Ok... Who DTs? Fright and Dread?

How often does the DT go off? I other words, how many people would be needed to take them down?

And lastly, can a decently geared 72 SK with 2500ac and 14.5k hp clear the trash solo (with a healer merc)?

I'm hoping Borek or someone can enlighten me.

Fright and Dread DT's, Terror doesn't.  DT is once every 30 seconds.

You can easily clear Fear, but you can't do DT mobs unless you have 1 other person to eat the DT for you.

72 should be able to clear most of the trash pretty easily, just watch out for the ireblind imp... he splits into like 50 mobs, and has a long stun.  I (81 SK) can have problems taking him down some nights.

And yes, Dread and Fright both DT (from what I remember) and from what I remember,it's just upon engaging them.  I used to lead fear raids all the time and we'd always just send in the lowest lvl toon (generally, someone that was just along for the ride) in to eat the DT.

You could probably do it with 3-4 skilled players with mercs.  I could be way off though, of course (i.e. don't yell at me if you fail hehe)

Good luck though!

No...I remember multiple DTs....so every 30 seconds sounds right. Would need at least three people if wehad a clicky cleric I think.

It just depends on your dps and whether you can take it down within 30 seconds.  If you can, your cleric merc can rez up the DT victim, so you really only need 2 people.    But if you can't take one down within 30 seconds, then you should have another there with you just in case.

Was thinking of a Higher Level ranger and using HS to eat the 1st deathtouch.

I just realized the irony in my last post. When Fear was fresh content and up until the level max was 60 or 65, we used to use the rangers as DT bait...

Now I gotta take the DT so the ranger can kill it...

Just be sure your ready long before you move near the Golems, as they have a healthy Agro range(and can DT ya before your even close to them) and 2 guards on the hills. You cant DA/Harmshield etc thru the DT(or atleast you couldnt unless there has been a change).

Pretty sure they're capped at the good ol' 32 K HP cap. 32,000 damage in 30 seconds = 1066~ DPS needed. That isn't really anything to high level people nowadays, even pets burst higher. You should be able to grab someone fairly easily to solo them once you eat the DT, especially if you're willing to give them the AoN if it drops. It isn't worth what it used to be, but it can probably still coax someone out there.

they aren't; they are 100k.

He was referring to mob hp, not death touch damage, Elephi. And yeah, they're 32k or less.

I could be wrong (although I don't think I am), but having a ranger pop weaponshield and aggro the DT mob wouldn't work.  Weaponshield blocks melee (and it can be struck-through), but I think the DT would still be able to land if it beat the resist check (assuming it's resistable).

I'm fairly sure I could survive it anyhow since I'm sporting over 33k HP and I doubt the mob can burn the remaining 1.3k HP off me before I could potion or merc heal.

*For reference I am an 85 Ranger and I'm finding Weaponshield more and more useless everyday.

Okay, we've got a lot of confusion going on in this thread, everyone stop and read.

PoFear death touch (Cazic Touch) is the 100k death touch. It will also blow through weaponshield, harmshield, berserker axes, even Divine Aura. Luclin era death touch (Touch of Vinitras) is the 20k one that almost everyone can survive nowadays. So no, you won't be doing any living through a PoFear death touch.

However, the mobs in PoFear all have 32k hp or less, because the coding at the time had 32k hp set as the arbitrary top number. If you're still confused, go to the top of the post and start over.

Lol forget it ... I just looked em up and DT is non-resistable for 100k.   I thought I remembered something about this.  Although I find it utterly pointless for them to have changed it.

They actually have 32,768 hp and it's not arbitrary at all. 32k (well, 32,768.) is the maximum value for a 16 bit signed integer (2^15).

There is nothing 'hard' about the Ireblind Imp other than it takes like 45 minutes to an hour to kill him. Solo'd him as a Warrior back when level 75 was cap.

Also.. he doesn't 'stun' you per say... he mezzes you. That difference is what makes him soloable.

Spell shielding mitigates Touch of Vinitras, I ate it and lived at 75 with around 30% spell shielding, it only landed for ~14k. I had to have a heal immediately since I only had about 1k hp to spare, but it's been survivable for a couple years now.

Don't Cazic Thule and maybe dracoliche have more than 32k HP?  I watched an 85 mage and a 69 mage kill him a few months back and I remember it taking like 20 minutes.

CT has way more than 32k HP.  Not sure how much more, but I tried soloing him a while back with my SK, who has a 70K HT and it barely put a dent in him.

Cazic does indeed have more than 32k, he's been revamped at least once since Velious upped the max ho numbers. He does not, however, use a death touch, nor does Dracoliche.

The pain about CT is that he calls everything in the zone to his aid.  So be warned, don't attempt CT without clearing the zone SMILEY

Your greatest challenge in this zone is respawn on the Golems.  AoN farmers keep these mobs dead to the minute of respawn for a semi-pointless clicky today.  I still do not understand why SOE wont address the AoN farming issue and move the item like they have with so many other items ingame that c**kblocked epic drops.

CT was revamped in PoP I believe, to make him more on par with gods of that era. Dracoliche is just a resistant jerk (and I think a belly caster).
