I'm at work. But last night, I got a T4 dark elf tank merc. She has a shield and an axe. Does the shield mean that she'll have higher AC? In the same vein, does the axe mean that she won't quad? Is she a shadowknight instead of a warrior?
Sorry, I guess it was three questions.
I can observe tonight and figure some of this out, but I thought some of the wise posters here may know.
Thanks,
~Sun
None of my tank mercs have used a shield so far. They've all gone through varying weapons, one used 2 whips at one point. My J5 merc always just uses 2 swords.
I thought the name on my merc changed every time I logged in.
Do you need your merc out *BEFORE* you die for a rezz or can you unsuspend after death and they'll rezz?

You can unsuspend to get the rez (of course you will be charged the full 15 minute upkeep everytime you unsuspend as the timer resets once you suspend).

Nope, I setup hotkeys /assist 'merc name' and it continues to work till she quits because I forget to put more money on my toon!
You can of course unsuspend the merc to rez you after you revive and gain control of your character. But say you are laying there dead, and you are hoping for a rez, then no, you won't have the ability to take your merc out right then. You have no control over your character and no hotbuttons to push. So in that case, you would need the cleric merc out before you die, if that's what you are asking about.
Interesting... if I shroud down, buy a low level merc, then unshroud and zone, my merc will beef up to my level. Does it keep the shield, though? I'll have to test that.

You'll also need to die so fast that your cleric merc doesn't have time to try to heal you and die to whatever just killed you. Having the merc on passive won't work, as he won't die that way but he also won't bother rezzing you. But if you pull a huge train and die in say 2 seconds, your merc will be more than happy to walk up to where you died and rez you back in. It's just not the most practical situation.
