I finished a project early, and convinced Rytan that I can slip in the time to get clicks on SoD items.

I do *NOT* know if it will make it in the June or July patch.  I WILL be using mostly existing clicks, I will not be making new ones.  There are a few "unused" ones already made that will be used.  I may make some name changes.

I **MAY** (maybe, possibly, not sure, not promising... am I clear here that I am not promising or guaranteeing?) upgrade a few of them, including some of the ones currently on SoF gear, because they are lacking.  Some of them are fine, some of them are not.

I did communicate with some of the community leaders Friday and today.

I will not be having a conversation about which ones are upgraded and which ones are not.   Because I am doing the work today, and will not realistically have time to keep an eye on these boards, nor make revisions.  It is mostly the mana/hp regen ones that are behind.  The others seem okay.  Geomancy seems a bit off, and may also have some changes, but it will still be of limited use to tanks.

I am sorry that this is more of an "announcement" than a discussion on the matter, but I thought you would at least like to know that is happening on this front since I know it is a hot topic.

Thank you for communicating this to us & taking the time to bang it out.  I am a bit perplexed as to why you needed to "convince" Rytan to add something that has been an integral part of EQ for quite some time though... regardless, thanks again sir!

PS - Please "convince" Rytan not to make this same mistake in the upcoming expansion?

The convincing is probably to "allocate time" and "priority" rather than that it needed to be done.  As with any ongoing project, the devs have a laundry list of things to do, and it is generally in a semi-sequential order.  My guess is that clickies were farther down the list, and Ngreth convinced Rytan to move the priority up, as he had created a window (free time), which would have just been filled in with the next item on the list anyways.  Based on player feedback, he justified a priority shift is all.

As for it not being completed previously, the loss of several devs (aka Freerealms & now DCU), probably created an issue where clickies were prioritized well below other issues.

That is pretty much it.  Doing it is on the list, the "when" of it was all that was in question.  SO the "convincing" was the order of things, not the fact that it needed doing.

I wondered when a dev would say something about the SoD clickies SMILEY . I hope we can see them soon and without too many bugs. But please, please make sure that some clickies come out for the NEXT Expansion as well. I can't wait to hear about the next expansion because its about the only thing I am looking forward to, other than clickies being added to SoD items SMILEY. Thanks Again Ngreth.

It's only a matter of time before this finally becomes reality, we'll just have to wait it out and I'm certain the wait itself will very well become very rewarding in turn.

Thanks for the update and it sounds like you have a lot on your plate, I think everyone can see that. I just hope our acknowledgment of your busy schedule doesn't become a "reason" that this issue is still persisting 3 months down the road. I'm just a patient, quiet skeptic but, I see other people making excuses for devs constantly because it paints a picture that those people are "in the know" and I feel sometimes this attitude gets in the way of progress because members of the community become unpaid excuse makers for SoE employees.

I'm rambling and sh*tting up the thread; anyway, thanks!

Hey, another opportunity to to make more futile suggestions. Please don't feel obligated to put clicks on the same slots every. single. expansion. I understand focus effects (because of their variety and importance) need to have a standard, to a point. Otherwise, casters are in a gearing nightmare. But clickys, I think within reason, they shouldn't be held to a slot standard.

Yes/no.

The archetype specific items should probably try to stay the same, I'd really hate to see something like overhaste end up on one of the all/all items in tower that nobody wants to pick up ever, for hybrids putting it on our endgame belt again would probably be the best bet.

First, thank you. This is what people have been asking for.

Second, to echo what Quarken said, let me add that I really hope that you spend less effort trying to put clickies on the same standard slots than you do in making them come from the same content.

It is a travesty that FoD6 is available to some classes in MMM but for others only from a Kerafyrm drop, for example. Things like that should be avoided, even if it means sticking clickies for one class on a different slot from an item dropping from the same mob or relative difficulty mob.

Very very ture, the trick is we just need to have patience over this and do other things while we wait until they are finally done, even if the wait is just very painful, we can always grind and raid and do quests while we wait because that's all we can do.

At one time cleric legs had a clicky heal (Time) on them, would it be too much to have the heal restored to the legs?

FoD VI is one I'd like to see more options for. As Fyndal was saying. Or a cleric usable Prismatic Ward type would suffice. Haven't had one of those since Solteris.

Ngreth Please consider looking at the clickys from Vex Thal to understand what most players want to see in endgame items.Aside from the usual clicks (mana regen, overhaste,"form of" stuff) from the last couple expanions please throw in some weird and off the wall clicks.Crazy stuff like mgb food/drink hold a charm you just don't get from todays game.

if ngreth ever does read this thread, i just have a few small requests/suggestions:

1. please make all Form of Defense clicks instant - some current incarnations  from DoDH+ are instant, some have a cast time. since FoD is near exclusively a tank click, and we have to deal with dispels/buff overwritten issues (and, out of habit, i'm willing to bet that like myself many tanks use FoD as a top slot buff) it's just way more convenient to not ever have to deal with trying to channel that.
i only request this because instant cast FoD clicks are already in game, just asking for *that* precedent to be used.

2. a shrink click from somewhere, on something, it doesn't matter, would be really nice.

Question:

Will the clickys be added to items already in the game? And if so, can you in any way disclose which items will have what clicky? This will help with gear planning etc....or could anyhow.

For future clickyes any thought about prolonging the duration of it (would be great if it could be used for earlier clicks to)

I know its not possible but I wish the Form of line could have the screech affect be stacable.. I would love to use all 2 forms I have together.. but thats just wishing.......

Thanks though for the update.. this is a great thing to hear... I am very interested in the clickies and cant wait to see whats added...

And to further what others ahve asked.. please look into clickies that are fun effects.. I miss the Clickies that summoned food (bards pants..loved the whole bread in the pants)... and other fun effects... would be great (summon weapons....summon food/drink...bind affinity (for tanks)... divine barrier line..etc)... these would be so fun...

If you put clickies on KITHICOR theme items don't forget that Zeb in the void (C and higher) sells most of these items. Don't forget to add the clicky to the zeb bought version either. that will save you having to go back and fix it later if its overlooked.

How about giving non-rangers a real arrow summon clickie?  One that doesn't require reagents.  Rangers get clickie and they don't really need one with Endless Quiver.

I finished an assigned task early. I got the go ahead to squeeze in these changes ( but its probably taking extra personal time on his part becuase they are most likely salary workers) .

I dont have time to quibble with you and answer 50 million  innane questions so please dont bother if you would like me to dedicate my time to actualy getting this done instead of answering 50 million threads and whiny questions. ( weve had 7 months to make sugegstions folks seriously)

And I am not publishing a list until I am done, then perhaps there will be time to discuss further if I happen to make a msitkae, but I did confer with the community leaders on the subject ( sad face rogues have no CL atm) so hopefully i wont mess it up too much.

Thanks for the update Ngreth.

Clicks should be upgraded of course, I realise this takes some time.

I don't blame you personally, but any adding clickies later then november 2008 is a failure. Every day that passes makes that failure more blatant.

Maybe ask SoE management for another dev. Would say they ripped us for enough, both in the past & recently.

Not really.  I plotted it out and it was VERY inconsistent.  so... I came up with a consistent plan that Aristo had started, and I finished.

Yes, existing items

It is coming out soon, but it is not QA'd yet, and I would hate for some issue to cause something to be moved then "pre nerfing" someone by them expecting a certain thing and not getting it because it moved.
