On Antonia Bayle, every question gets at least one snarky replie folowed by a fellow idiot's LOL
On Lucin, the community is much more mature.
But theres a lot more people on AB
It's the same as the WoW community. There, I said it.

Since there is now a /browser command, people no longer have to even tab out.
I'm one of the ones that suggested that all the people who kept asking OVER and OVER and OVER each day "What's the Daily Double?" make themselves this macro so they could, in essence, have a /dd command in game:
/browser http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Void_Shar...#Daily_Missions
If you need quest spoilers, then try:
/browser http://eq2.wikia.com/
or
/browser http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Search
Want to find out where a certain loot item drops, or want the in-game link for an item, or want to know what all is in the loot table for Aiden? try:
/browser http://lootdb.com
These are such useful sites that it might even be a good idea to set up macros to auto open 'em.

Awesome links.. however.. where's your link for "Which Class should I play?!"

Whoever said Yolanda spends her day being a jerk in 1-9 clearly has no idea what they're talking about. Yolanda is one of the most helpful, funny, kind people on Unrest, and you are totally painting her in a bad light, and I don't appreciate it.I am one of those that gives snarky answers, especially if you are asking questions you can easily find the answer to yourself, WITHOUT tabbing out of the game to a browser. Like "What does wis do for a templar?" "Um... tab over it on your persona window and it will tell you." GENERALLY, if the question is somewhat dumb but actually requires looking it up out-of-game, I will give a snarky answer, folowed by "JK!" and a real answer.Seriously, get the stick out of your butt if you are offended at people poking a lil fun. We've all been in that position where you are stuck and feel you have to ask your question publically. If you can't take a lil ribbing for not being able to figure it out, maybe you should just turn off the channels and keep yourself in your sheltered little world where everything is happy and no one says mean things to you.

I am deeply offended by all the shameful Tier'dal out there that think it is ok to act like some type of "warm and fuzzy" Kerra.
(it's not snark .. I am just roleplaying a dark elf.... I am suppose to act like I am superior to everyone)
I'm shocked these channels are used at all.
Since the default behavior of the spam/alice bots is to /whochannel Level1_9 for a list of people to spam/solicit.
Just join the channel and see how long it takes for the spam filter to trigger.
Leaving this channel is always the very first thing I do when I start an alt.

I haven't gotten a tell from a bot/plat seller in I can't remember how long.
Whether that is because the filer SoE put into place works really really well or the fact that the game has to be profitable for them to be around...... my guess is the later.

I joined 1-9 as an experiement just now, took 35s for spam filter to get a hit.
Meh. The spamblocker catches the few remaining spam tells, so that's no biggie. What I love is seeing somebody I knooooow is 80 talking smack to somebody in the 10's. We've got a couple of winners on the Q-side, as well as the FP-side. Ignore is such a wonderful tool; too bad it doesn't do it by account instead of individual. I'd like to see more moderation on the part of the GM's (just to shut some of the truely useless ones up), but that just ain't gonna happen. We'd actually need active GM's to have that.
There are a lot of people who also are helpful, though. Even on Nagafen. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

Near as I can tell the spam filter is about 99% accurate, but they're persistent enough I don't want the 1%.
I leave the filter notifications on, cause I also see just as many false positives as I see spam making it thru the filter.
Not joining any channel that is available to a freshly rolled toon is a great way to avoid them. Not to mention, levels 1-9 as so overly simplified, someone actually needing help in that range I think is uncommon.
Generally these people don't stick around real long, which is why discourse in higher level chat channels tends to not be so 13-year-old sniggering style.
Oh yeah? Come to butcherblock and tell me that 70-79 isnt as bad as our 1-9.

TENDS to be, I said!
LDL has its share of excessively juvenile moments on 70-79 also. When that happens, I just turn that chat channel off.
In 1-9 and 10-19, I often help those who ask simple questions, been there done that as a new player, I understand it can be frustrating, then to have people shout you down, when you are trying to get a grasp of the game, makes ya wanna say, to heck with it and just not play.
However, just as there are those that sit there and wait for someone to ask a noob question, so they can "pounce" on them to feel "oh soooo uber!", there are those out there who don't want to exert any effort into their gaming experience, and expect the community, to hold their hand through each and every step, of each and every quest.
Here is a good example: Anyone who has played this game for any length of time, knows of the infamous Everling in Nek Castle, who is needed for sever quests and HQ's. You cannot walk in go to the bottom (without access) and just kill Everling and be done with it. It's a long drawn out process, that takes quite awhile. Try having a new person ask for assistance with each and every step of this place, and to get thru the everling lockets quet for access, then to be guided around the castle, all thru chat. I have seen this in general chat, and eventually, the people in chat do keep telling them to look up the walkthru, cuz they get tired of the constant barrage of questions from the same person, hours on end.
So, it ends up being a toss up of either bullies, waiting for their next chat victim, or the noob, who needs a minute by minute guide in the game, that whines in chat incessantly.
There is a point of view from both sides of the issue

It's better to teach a man to fish, than just give him one. IMO it's always appropriate to point people towards the wiki or zam, and let them learn for themselves how to be more self-sufficient. Just spoon-feeding them information on-demand isn't doing them any favors in the long term.
