Just came back to eq2 after about a 4 year layoff 2 or 3 days ago. Log in this morning and join guild chat for the first time. Guildmate said he heard me saying something but was a lot of scratchy/background noise. So i fiddle with the mic settings to make it sound better. After this i notice that i now have no game sounds (not voice chat sound) coming out of either my headphones or my tabletop speakers.
Now let me preface this by saying that i am not a technically savy person in terms of computer coding and opererating systmes. However i have been playing MMO's for a long time now and i have used several third party voice chat systems like Ventrillo, Team Speak, and even roger wilco back in the day lol. So my point is im not new to setting up microphones and sound settings to get voice chat and sound working properly. Im usually the one telling my friends what to do to get things working right.
HOWEVER im am thoroughly BAFFLED. I have gone into control panel and checked all my speaker, mike, sound settings. I have gone into the eq2 options menus and checked all the settings. I have checked and rechecked , i have tried every possible variation. I have rebooted, total shutdown and restart, tried with no headphones at all only speakers. I have NO IDEA what the problem is. I have played WoW today, i have looked at videos on youtube and fandango, have played music on Itunes!!!!!!! Everything related to sound is working perfectly fine except that i cannot get any game sounds at all from either my headphones or my speakers. Additionaly when i first joined the guild chat and went to check my voice chat settings at the bottom of the options it stated that my mic was plugged in and working properly in green lettering. Now however it says that my mic is not selected as the input in red lettering. It says this even as i am talking to people in the guild through my mic.
I can use the voice chat , people here me , i hear them but no game sounds at all even when im not in voice chat (disabled).
Im about at my wits end with this issue.
Any ideas????
