I figured we could use some "happy" stories on the forums with all the "where's the updates" and "KV needs vixed" etc threads we see.

We could get nastalgic here...

I really have a hard time narrowing it down to one, so I'll list a couple, in chronological order, not "ranked" on which one I liked the best.

1.  Seeing/killing my first dragon, Skayhir at about level 35.  We had some 50s there obviously, but I wasn't quite to 50 yet.  This was somewhere around June of 2003.

2.  The first raid that showed Cosa was "there" when it came to raiding.  Back when Zin the Dessicator was tough prefronts, we MT'd him as our first really hard mob to tank.  I remember a couple officers from Valiance (a top raid guild at the time) watching the whole fight and at the end just said "really nice execution Cosa".  c October 2003.

3.  As the first guild to see any named on PoD, MT'n Noroxus, Queen, twins, etc, spawning Bert for the first time on CLW's history...only to get trained by a guild member who just "wanted to see".  Nothing like being trained by the god of disease by your own guildie.  Oh yeah, Bert despawned before we were able to get setup again.  c. couple weeks after the PoD update 2004.

4.  Completing the 53/55/57/59 side quests with about 5 or 6 other CN members who were doing them congruently, that was a fun time.  c. fronts release 2003 to around March 2004.

5.  Doing the "impossible" and becoming the first guild to MT CT server wide.  I'll be honest, I bet no one in CN could even guess at what was dropped off CT that day, for all I know the body might have rotted because of the utopian "wow, did we just do it?" feeling afterwards.  GC and shouts were filled for 20+ minutes of nothing but cheering, etc.  c. couple months after CT update 2005.

::thinks:: I may have too many to list

1) When I was just a young Cleric, was near the FP banker and people started shouting "HELP! FP IS BEING ATTACKED..." etc etc. Those days, people occasionally did that just clowning. but then more started shouting so I made my way there. Sure enough, a giant DF orc was attacking FP with a pet scorpion the size of the coachmans stable. I stood there in aww as I was only level 34. I decided to sling what heals I could at whoever looked like they could use, till his AoE took me from full to nearly no life. So I ran in the building across from the coach and did the rest of the battle by occasionally peeking m head out toling some heals.

2) either Diren Hold or Freezeblood Village has big mountain with a cave that leads to a White Drake with a pile of gold. My cousin and I were prolly late-20s or early 30s when we found this guy, conned red to us. I was on cleric, she was on Bard. we pulled outside and I ran in laps (never heard of "kiting" back then so we called it "the pattywagon" ::shrugs:: ) while she kept unloading on it. felt like forever but we finally got em down to 1 red...then my camera angle got kooky, I hit a rock, got instantly owned, and we failed. Even though failed, laugh alot thinking back since we did a lot for just being a bard and a cleric.

Yeah, I got too many.

other notables:

- MTn AoH on a low CM war with patch gear and mediocre force numbers

- Recent MT on Bert in a joint raid where we just obliterated Bert, he got me to half life once, that was it. (i'm sure others have done better, it just made me happy doing it on my WAR)

- Seeing Aeyinar for my 1st time, went with a raid force of like 35 toons, only to have Aeyinar wipe us out. Then going back 4 days later with another guild and killing Aeynar with 6 toons.

- feeling like I hit the lottery when someoen gave me 100,000 tunar for a 2-horned ripper....then learning about 3 hours later it was removed from the loot table. (ok, so maybe that's not a BEST memory)

Trying for 45 minutes to get a group in EG, only to have Boof pull the entire zone and train every group xping there.

The first time I ran into the wisps at twins, without reading update notes or any of that

Collecting full moonwater and sitting in fpc on my nec, then later on again wearing my two handed sword from spirit of justice (now a hammer) and have everyone stare at me....secretly enjoying it lol

Full Rubicite.....i was a god amongst bards.

The first time I charmed a mob, i think it was a wisp or lion near DM undead....then going to the camp and getting owned right away.

I can go on...lol

I did a stupid thing with my first CV I ever had.  About a week before IoD came out I traded my CV for like 3 or 4 pieces of shadowscale armor which was "the best" melee gear at the time.  A week later IoD came out and shadowscale became obsolete with the class armor on IoD.

Lets see...

My very first try at running to HP.  There was no compass. so I decided to go off the little map inside the instruction manual.  I headed westish from Neriak, ran into a mountain range, and ended up in Greyvax Caves at the rat tomb.  This was before the 23's, I remember telling my guild "I think I found a dungeon with a dragon inside!"

My first "raid".  Little by little I started to branch out from around Neriak.  I soon discovered a small house with a named NPC inside, he was red conned to me, and named, so i thought "he must drop some uber loots!"  I went inside, and pulled him haphazardly outside, banging into the walls as my camera went funny, I had him half way down, then he decided to annihilated me.  I told a guildie abut it, took him to the spot, and he told me it was an NPC from BBW.

My first trip to BBW crocs.  Our guild said they discovered a super secret island, great for leveling, so of course, I was all on board!  We got to the island, and started to xp.  A guildie said someone was on the way to the island, and that they were known to train.  I said in group chat "awesome, someone else to help us train!"

My first experience in how large the game world was.  I just turned 17, and heard about level 17 quests for uber armor and such.  I heard the questgiver was right there in Neriak!, I logged the quest, and easily found the ceremonial dagger not a minute away.  I'm thinking how easy!  The next part was in Blakedown.. I asked guildies and friends where Blakedown was, and they said "west".  Needless to say, it took me about a week to finally make it to Blakedown, and I was amazed at just how large the game world was.

My first look at the uber members of Neversleep.  I finally made it to HP, and couldn't believe it when I saw a number of 50's, with glowing weapons, decked out in uber Glacier Plate they obtained raiding the awesome home of Lady Vox in Perma Castle.

My first encounter with a Customer Service Agent.  I was invited to a group camping at hexbones in Z-Keep.  I was running up to the camp, and spotted someone with a 'green' name.  It turns out there was a dispute over a large number of groups, and the igloos.  The cs agent said "How about you all share the igloos" ::grin::"  Her name was Sapphyra.  (I actually named my enchanter when I moved to FH "Saphyra", before Saph became a dev.  Needless to say, I had a number of funny tells and comments over the years

There's waaay too many to list, but these few popped into my head as I was writing.

Being the first warrior (at least on FH) way back when (wayyy before the TP quests and class balancing began) to solo Grundle and a dreadnaught.

Completing my warriors 60 epic.

Leveling my druid on FH to 60.

Falling asleep while grinding with Pattywack and Rallain at Pariahs on FH before EG got 'nerfed' as people call it.

Some punks training people at Gnolls on FH when I was a low level newb, and feeling like we were all safe when "Cloud" and "Drifter" showed up to try and stop the trainers.

Off topic: Speaking of drifter, did anyone ever watch G4 when the Drifter and Bernie were on it? lol

I remember way back when I was a little level 20 Paladin doing my initial quests in Qeynos.  I was exiting the main city gate and I saw two Level 40 Trolls killing Qeynos guards.  I had no clue what was going on, thought my starting town was getting overrun by Trolls!  ROFL!!!

Killing Parathior for the first time was pretty awesome!  First "raid" for me!

Of course I remember kiting dreadnaughts for 20 mins while 8 other guildies killed.

And then heading to IoD for the first time and raiding all the "hard" mobs there.  Man how far we have came lol.. considering I tri-box every mob on IoD now lmao.

Farming Spirits and getting my Spiritmaker's Robe!

And my favorite all time moment was farming Deso and getting my BPOA.

I really want to read this whole thing but I need to sleep, I'll just add something for now to bump it and read later lol.

Very first time I met someone in Neriak on my Delf SK. I was probably lvl 7 or so(if that), was always gettng owned by the DtT quest rats, and kept going back for more. I met a nice cl around same lvl and even though I was totally totally new, I asked THEM if they wanted help... I think he was laughing at me from the inside lol

The nice Gal Delf CL toon started showing me where and what I need to go and do to advance myself further, ty to this cl, I ended up getting my lvl 5 spell, Harm Touch(or was it lvl 8? bah I think I ended up finally killing the fire bat at that lvl but was lvl 5 quest I forget...). We did both our starting quests up to where I needed to make this guy spawn a huge bug(beetle pretty much) and we wiped on first try. She then employed the help of a 60 DK named Morynn wearing all red armor and huge shield and the most awsomess sword I'd ever seen yet. Morynn came to help but then I had harm touch back up(was an hour recast at the time) and just casted it to kill lol. Morynn was like guess didn't need my help after all lol.

Wow, good memories. Mory sent me link to CS website and I've never stopped using it since. I used to(and still do) think Morynn was the coolest and toughest freaking SK I'd ever seen. I bet if she liked dueling as much as I do I'd find my face in the floor lol.

OOO speaking of.

My first duel.

Read my thread for that lol

but yeah, I lost BADLY to a lvl 33 war at around same lvl. I stank(couldn't use a certain word here...) but it was fun lol(lil did I know wars can get a path heal known as bellow and I thought he was eating so I ate a tiny bit, too bad it was only my lvl 1 food lol). After that I always wanted to keep dueling, win or lose. Ah good times. I got plenty more but I just wanted to bump thread and I posted a book....

Losing a CV on a roll 1 day, only to have it no longer drop the next day after a update.

IoD pre-fronts, all the competition between the the major raid guilds at the time pushed us all to get better.

My first  Dragon kill, Siliskor, and being at max debt afterwards with 1y to 50......

The first day I ever DB'd (now I quad).

Taking a quad from CT and living on my ALC.

That's a great feeling.  On CT, even when we were first killing him back in '05, as a melee there was no way I was going to get enough wisdom to make my resists even effective for the AoEs, so I have always 100% neglected resists on CT and gone with as many HPs as I possibly could.

Well, back then 2 years ago on CT that was somewhere around 10.2k HPs, and there was once I accidentally nabbed agro from the tank, took a quad and survived...it was a good day SMILEY

We all have our lowbie memories that we will surely cherish forever. Here are a few of mine:

1) Typing without a keyboard.

2) Spending a month in the underwater cave near halas

3) Farming Tak Frostbite for months and getting 2-3 crystalline robes and selling them in HP.

4) Killing my first dreadnaught (lvl 45 on my monk)

5) First pick up group to IoD, getting pwned...thinking I was going to get some sweet xp. Wrong.

6) My first dragon, Siliskor around level 48

7) Completing my epic quest. I stayed level 49 forever just running around with my new epic staff.

SMILEY First trip to PoD with Shadow of War (level 5SMILEY, killing the queen there. Then spending 2 weeks trying to kill Noroxus. I think we used a crusader and pulled all the Jellys in the pond. Needless to say the crusader was at full life while his MCA was upSMILEY

9) The raids I went to as an applicant to CN.

10) My first CT raid with Cosa Nostra, no MT but it was very close. We got it the next time.

Mine would have to be seeing skayhir for the first time and taping it.  I remember waiting 5 days in that cave! This was around the time when everyone was camping him for the quest piece for the PoS port. I would just log on in the morning and in the evening just to see if he spawned and finally I got lucky one saturday night. He popped while I was checking the who list and  I think the others went sleepy lol.  However, there was a 60 DK and a 55 Guardian ready for the battle. I was only level 50 at that time and I almost died.  Thank goodness for LoH I survived~!  Definately was one of myEQOA highlights...

Others good memories would include doing coach runs back in the day.  Being 50 and having no debt when dieing prefronts. Getting A two horned ripper a week after they stopped dropping.  Farming Dinbak for names and rares. It was my favorite place to grind back then.  I think it was cazicite armor or something there that I kept trying to get the set of.  It was some yucky brown looking armor with high Dur and decent ac with resists If I'm not mistaken. Yep those be the good ole days for me.

The first time I had seen a troll warr at qeynos in lvl 17 armor set while exploring. Was thinking it was going to attack me.

Killing stable boy and not being able to coach back ti highborn.

Being led to the underwater cave near halas for the first time.

Soloing Parathior on accident on a cleric after the wizzy I was helping died.

Then Soloing Voxx on a clr.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLPYRkIxVPE&fmt=18

Thinking I was unstopable attempting to solo grundle on a cleric and failing. Mind you for none of those battles did I have decent CR resist.

Dinging my first sixty. I was extra proud because she was an alc. Back then sixty alcs were rare and guildees were amazed when i was throwing rat pots at siloth to help with lionwere quest. I remember I actually shouted for help in fp once and about three people responded right away. All three told me at one point I had helped them with one thing or another I didnt remember them.  I was in a guild where we all made druids and we would fly thru towns there were about 12 of us. I think we called outselves the flying colors or something like that. In my memories some of the simple things were the most fun. Dam diving in Halas.
