K so... I've only been lvl50 now a coupla months, and I'm just starting to screw around with PvP. Naturally this has led me to examine diffenrent ways of improving my skills, and someone mentioned clothing macros, so I went and looked up a tutorial. Amongst the comments in this tutorial was one claiming that changing clothes without resetting your LO is an exploit, and quite frankly, I'm stunned...
Does anyone not do this? I'm not talking a whole sale outfit switch in Pvp, but I've deffo changed clothes without changing LO's.
I guess I don't understand how this even works... I ran a test yesterday, and didnb't see any sign that the system was retaining clothing buffs when i switched items, but i was just standing around at a HL.
So is this something that only happens in Combat? Is it invisible, like it generates buffs that you cant see in yer status? Is it all buffs, or just some?
In short:
1) How do avoid this?
2) How was i supposed to know this is an exploit? I did a search and i couldn't find any articles on the forums explaining whats considered exploiting (maybe i just set my search parameters wrong)
3) What else mught i be doing thats regarded as an exploit, and i just don't know it?
(I'm not even gonna ask why it hasn't been fixed)
Anyone who has some insight here, I would greatly appreciate it....
Basically, avoid things that go against the 'intended' use. If you are no longer wearing a piece of clothing, yet receiving the buffs from that clothing, it's not the intended use. It will happen by accident or as an oversight at times, sure, but doing it with the specific intent of exploiting the possible use to gain an advantage is a no-no.I'll PM both you, psilody, and AlphaCoder with my description of how the exploit works so that you might hopefully better understand it as I'm sure posting how an exploit works on the open forum is a violation of the Forum Rules.
Thanks Indeed LoTek!
I realize its awkward to openly discuss this stuff. It's my understanding that you can be banned form the game if you are caught using exploits. The last thing i want to do is get booted for doing something i didn't even know i was doing. Now i have a better idea what I'm trying to avoid.
Godgiver- thanks for that heads-up. Lol, with how bad my lag is i dont think i could even begin to switch tactics after the thingy goes green heck, half the time, i dont get a green flash, or i get it well after the move has finished. But i appreciate the input.
While the intentions behind this thread may be good, the forum rules still state you can't post how to exploit. "How to" portions have been edited out. - Presence
This isn't even that big of a sploit, i find at most you can accumulate a few additional points for a temporary amount of time, granted its much more malicious and intention then say clothing macros or even the tactic switching.
I don't think theres a quality fighter or decent pvp'er who doesn't or hasn't at one point used the tactic switch, it's not agreeably a sploit since anyone can do it, it's about reading the system and reacting, rather then playing with loadouts and the mathematics, but i mean it's all just player opinion until the mods step in and do something. And to fix most of the 'sploits' they'd have to do a rather large overhall of cr2.0 and they won't happen.
Sploits are an inevitability anyhow, as much time as they spend monitoring, and developing the system, theres so many more of us out there learning the ins and outs of it, and finding ways to improve our own master of it.
The best way to tell if your sploiting or not is:
If you feel you can't tell people what you do, or keep it quiet - not because its a custom secret but because you know they'd call it sploiting or you'd get CCR'd, then you're probably sploiting. If you can openly admit it, and justify it, chances are it's not something too big to worry about. And quite frankly without the ability to see the rolls, one can't really tell the influence mid-combat clothing swithces has, ergo clothing macros are in my opinion tactically appreciable. That being said i don't use them cause my hotbars are filled with too much crap and i tend to stick to one outfit.

Darminian, there will be far less exploiters and exploiting if you don't tell people precisely how to do it.
Your intentions are pure, but you'd do well to think about looking over your opening paragraph again.
I'v found it that some people say u sploit for changing clothes. I don't understand this is every fight you pretty much need to adjust your clothing loadout. And also, people that say your a noob for doin it (had this 1 also lol) their the noobs for not doin it as u need the extra resistance or defense. If this does sploit the system by addin up the clothing that you've just had on with the one you've changed to, then there is somethin really up with this lol
As for macros, i use to do it until my hotbars got wiped. It does make it alot easier to switch but now i just bring up my inventory and all my pvp gear is in the first 2 pages.
And as for PDS sploitin, i know of 2 main ones that defo do but the rest i don't think so. There is some talented players in there and they shouldn't be brough down just cause of some other fags in the faction.
