With the storyline going as it is, does anyone else come to the conclusion that its is probable that the machines had the foresight to create a highly redundent energy system? IE multiple feilds and multiple mega cities (or alternate matrix's) and that the one we occupy, if what arch said could be interperted this way, is simply the primary, or largest of these feilds + matrix simulations?

If this is the case, are the objectives of Zion and EPN completely futile as they would have to breach and take down each matrix and pod feild which would significently increase the work load to epic proportions?

Hm... I have a feeling there's just one Machine City, but I think it's feasible that there's probably multiple clusters of power plants/fetal fields out there, on different continents with trunk lines leading underground to the Machine City. But consider that EPN especially has a habit of metaphorically beating their heads against a wall in an effort to break through it, it comes as no surprise that they'd be monomaniacal about trying to cut the power from just one power plant array.

It has been envisioned as a big machine city that is roughly triangular shaped (fractal) with three power plant pod tower clusters around it (around the points or sides as one might prefer, each with their own field.)  These tower clusters would be Recursion, Syntax and Vector.  This is meant only to fit in with game mechanics and is not meant to be representative of anything outside what fits with game mechanics.

A recent Live Event alludes to power plant pod tower clusters or maybe Machine operative bases with pod clusters "elsewhere on the surface."

I think it's possible, but not likely.  I say that because I figure we would've heard about them by now if there were.  Each 'city' would be on their own 'cycle', and thus, would each have their own systematic anamoly (the One) to be able to balance the equation.

What I think is more likely, is that there are seperate "cities" out there that are used for research and development by the Machines.  Basically, fake realities that the Machines use to run various tests on selected individuals.

Why would we hear about them? For all we know 01 is at the center of a giant circle of power plants and feilds that are spaced 100 miles from each other. The likelyhood of two hovercrafts from diffrent "zions" would be astromically slim if each one was only allowed a fleet of 15 or so from the beginning and widdled down as time progressed.

I definitely can agree with the idea of seperate "test" worlds for the machines to try out new things, but it would seem very machine like to be very redundent as possible.

Mm, the idea of different seperate test worlds makes a lot of sense. Think of "The Animatrix: Detective Story", which features a very 1940s film noir milleu -- cars, clothing, the general atmosphere, etc. is like something from "The Road to Perdition" or "Sin City", but our man Mr. Ash is using a computer with a CPU that looks oddly like Charles Babbage's Difference Engine.

I read somewhere that (an exile said) the machines do have pocket worlds(could be 01??o.O) that they use to scutinise and go into detail the humans body.
