Random thought I had as I practiced being an Unlimit in front of my mirror (Yay Halloween, Boo not being able to jack in ever!):
If the cheat code vials were found now (or if more of them were found now), would not Zion attempt an Unlimit-like takeover? When Anome wrested control of Niobe's sub-faction from her and founded Unlimit, his goals eventually became "Destroy / Control the Matrix!" Zion, back then, wanted freedom of the humans from the Matrix, and because they were under a Truce with the Machines, they were free to awaken anyone who subconciously rejected the Matrix. So, to prevent hostilities with the Machines, and because Anome was blasting bluepills instead of freeing them (and probably because Niobe got lead in her stomach or whatever), they fought him.
But now, after war's broken out, would Zion reject its old hippy standard of protecting relationships with the Machines and use cheat codes to combat them?
Or better yet, would they condone use of the cheat codes to fight the Intruders first, THEN crash the Matrix by rescuing the bluepills en masse as the Machines stood by, nearly helpless?
What do you think?
Um, why not use them for constructive matters instead? Like, track the BIP, jam Wright's signal in place and force her to spill the beans on the override technology, the oligarchs and all this drama revolving around the BIP? Track the power lines and map out all the unknown pod clusters (whatever happened to the General's expedition and revelation of some weird clusters with powerlines running in teh opposite direction?), or perhabs even the no-fly zone?
Sure, crashing the system sounds nice and all, but what would that leave humans with? A ravaged world, billions of clueless, psychotic, naked people drowning in goo, and a horde of really pissed robots drilling holes to the city once again.
Vast ammounts of precious data would be lost, along with the hope of ever finding out a way to coexist with the machines peacefully.
Power corrupts.
I guess this proves Zippy isn't just a furry face.
The cheat codes always reminded me of the One Ring in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. It's easy to say, "Oh, if I had one of those vials, I'd use it to do good!" The thought even crossed my mind... but power that great is too much for a person to bear without it going to their head...

The cheat codes are useless against the Oligarchy. Beirn tried his abilities against Halborn and they were completely ineffective.
Plus, I'm not sure Zion would allow it, because the abilities caused bluepills to die when they witnessed them. If I remember correctly, this was why they were sealed away.

Hoo yeah, I was there... Scary...
The varied attempts to gain control or manipulation over overrides or the wireframes suggests so, I think.
