by my experience SW boxes far out way general missioning by about 60% on a xp/time basis thats with a team of 4 hackers doing 6 boxes and lvling 2 alts.  this can be increased easily by using more boxes as with AOE it makes no difference generally the 55s are taken out in a matter of seconds and its only the lvl 60 which take a little longer.  That being said you do need 4 lvl 50s to do this.  there are other methods that require 3-4lvl 50s that are quite fast but i have not calculated the exact xp/min you get from these tasks but i will list them below:

01 part farming and mission running at the same time - Basically 2-3 50s go to 01 and farm parts 1 drags then they both lay into the whole group while another 50 runs missions with the lowbie.  this increases the output of xp by quite alot and id have to say could be more effiecient than sleep walker boxes.

Corrupted farming - this is a good thing to do if you are fed up of missions and basically want to do something else. Register a trial account on station launcher and dual client a new character make him a machine and get him the stamos access key and hardline.  then basically spawn a corrupted using the teleport trick and farm away. you can even write a macro so that you can just stand there talking on faction chat while your char automatically kills the corrupted spawns.  This is actually slightly better xp/min than tiny hard assassin missions but only just.

The most effiecient method ive seen however which is a combination of 2 methods is sleepwalker box farming with 01 part collecting- basically you have a team of 6 hackers in satis farming SW boxes with the lowbie also attacking the SW spawns.  Try and get as many boxes as possible dropped just log on alts and drop a box and relog to get more boxes dropped if you cant get enough players n to drop them. 6 hackers can pretty much clear 10-12 boxes with ease.  The lowbie then just area hacks the spawns and he will recieve xp for hitting the npcs. being off team this usually equates to about 25-30k per kill at lvl 21.  mean while the lowbie sits on team with 2 other 50's in 01 farming parts.  This is by far the most efficient method ive seen but it does require alot of 50s.

The other method is Machine missions 5.1 where by you have to kill very little and you can run the whole 5.1 chapter with ease.  this is a decent solo missioning attempt but in no way compares to the above method.

On that box drop i believe we had 14, we have done it a few times so its hard to remember. we average at around 14 but we hae gone as high as 17. id say 10-11 where hackers on that attempt.

I'm going to be crazy and do the corrupted farming thing.
I haven't decided on 6000 or 7000 of corrupted fragments, but with 80 per spawn, I count about..75-80 corrupted spawns, which I'll do at least one daily.  When it comes down to it, I'll have fraps on and log recording.

I currently get on average 80 fragments / spawn, which is two boxes.  For 6000 and 7000 frags, that's 150 or 175 boxes overall.  Roughly 2 boxes / spawn, so thats about 75 to 88 spawns.  (I wish I could uncompress the archives later for insecticides if I had any left over.....)

Right im looking into finding an exact number of parts or decaying code it would take to lvl from 2 to 50.  Does any one have any data they may have recorded in the past regarding how much xp a box of 01 parts gives at certain lvls. If so i would appriciate it if you could share this data with the boards and i can utilise this in my calculations.  Alternatively if Rare could share the xp data per lvl he set the parts trade in at i would be very grateful.  if i can not get any data previously recorded can i ask a favour of the players of mxo i need a wide spread of data for how much xp you gain at different lvls for 20 robot parts.  if it is anything like the xp curve it will probably be a slightly different curve in the ranges of 2 to 10 than in 11 to 50.

With your help i will be able to use your data to graph the xp gained from each trade in per lvl and thereby calculate the exact number needed to lvl from 2 to 50 purely on parts trade in's alone

I was under the impression the exp gain from boxes like that was geared to level much like hardlines and access nodes are but I could be quite wrong.

Yes, xp is based on level, for basically everything. It seems only thing that isn't is Access Nodes.

To a certain extent.  If a level 2 cashes in on Creston Node, he gets little, where as anyone around 30-50 get the same 900Kish if I recall.

Yes they are what i am looking for is details of how much xp you get per 20 parts at different lvls. For instance say at lvl 8 you get 40k and at lvl 9 you get 48k or something to that extent.  I am trying to plot the exact ammount of parts needed to attain each level.  through my own findings im estimating 120 parts per lvl at lvls 2 to 40 then 300 for lvls 40 to 50 that is a rough estimate but it worked out pretty well in my tests

Ok thanks to both Tsusai and Craint for your help i have completed my research into decayed code farming as an alternative to missioning and i have been able to calculate the exact number of archives you need per level and a total needed to reach lvl 50.

level number of archives number of decayed code
1

2

3

4

5 1 40
6 1 40
7 1 40
8 2 80
9 2 80
10 2 80
11 2 80
12 3 120
13 3 120
14 3 120
15 3 120
16 4 160
17 4 160
18 4 160
19 5 200
20 5 200
21 5 200
22 5 200
23 6 240
24 5 200
25 6 240
26 7 280
27 6 240
28 7 280
29 7 280
30 8 320
31 7 280
32 8 320
33 8 320
34 8 320
35 9 360
36 9 360
37 9 360
38 9 360
39 10 400
40 10 400
41 10 400
42 10 400
43 11 440
44 11 440
45 11 440
46 11 440
47 12 480
48 12 480
49 12 480

294 11760

as you see if you trade 1 archive in at lvl 1 you will jump straight to lvl 5 from then on the number of archives needed to reach the next level is listed.  I have highlighted a flaw in the xp reward system for the corrupted code XP trade in as shown in this thread

http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=36300027480

and hopefully this could be looked at to bring it in line with the rewards given by the equivilant amount of decayed code needed to obtain a corrupted code.

My next set of research is going to be in 01 part farming and the xp gained off of each part although from my initial research i have found that the trade in for 20 parts is equal to the max xp reward for killing an ^^^ npc 5 levels above the player level times by 10 + a bonus ammount of xp that i have yet to calculate a progression for.
