Fascinating.

lol

Those nacelles look. . .strange. Pre-TOS I'm guessing. I hope they get it right, though. The Enterprise from the 1960's TV show is an icon that they can't screw with too much.

hmmm  looks like the old enterprise....  SMILEY

I'd rather see a screenshot of the cast in character... thats what gonna kill this movie,  not the ship.

They're still building the ship from that picture.  The nacelles look strange because the caps haven't been put on the buzzard collectors.  I'm sure it'll look more like the Enterprise we know once they release a picture of it completed.

It's my new background, and I'm getting more excited about this movie.

This is an official statement from trekkies.

"If you are looking forward to this movie, you are not a fan!"

The general impression among the diehards is that this prequel/reboot concept is going to be an abomination.

I'm going to remain optomistic - they said the same thing about Casino Royale, and that turned out great.

I was positive I would hate the new Bond till I saw the movie and liked it.

Bond and Trek are 2 very different birds. Bond has constantly evolved with each movie and even more so with each actor. Star Trek was made what it is by the ACTORS that played their characters. What do you think the reaction would be if they did a Star wars movie set immediately before or after the original films, but got "todays hot young actors" to play all the characters we know and love.

Im not saying no to a new star trek movie, just no to THIS movie.

Considering that Voyager and Enterprise were so bad as to be unwatchable, they can hardly do worse.  Can they?  The last great Trek TV was DS9.  The movies... hit and miss, though the last one was not among the top 3 or even 5.

And... I had to laugh... it's Bussard Collectors, named after Robert W. Bussard who postulated a spacecraft propulsion system using hydrogen collected magnetically from interstellar gases.  A Buzzard Collector either has an aviary or is a taxidermist!
