I thought the AB team did a great job. It, unfortunately, didn't hold my interest, though. In my opinion, it ran too long and was too difficult to follow. Also, for those of us that don't have or use MySpace or MSN, it felt like we were being left out of the loop. In the future, instead of MSN, I'd use Xfire or AIM, which are much more used in the MxO community than MSN.
All in all, I thought it was very cool. The real life phone calls were great, even if I could never understand them (I always seemed to get the calls when I was somewhere noisy, like a bar).
Future events should only be a week or two long, though.
Fenshire: We actually used AIM, MSN, and Xfire. There was a different operative in charge of each messenger, and we decided to use all of them because different people use different ones. Also, as stated in the Q&A, future events will only last a week, except for maybe the occasional uber-long event. Who knows? Think of this as a stress-test. We wanted to see what we could do when we only had a month to plan a month long event. From here on out, it'll be something around 3 weeks to plan a week long event.
Reeverb: Yeah, a lot of stuff could be done in game, but at the same time, we used the messengers to get in contact with people that didn't play anymore or were rarely in game. It served its purpose, and we wanted to use as many mediums as possible to vary up the presentation throughout the course of the event. As far as the radio goes, what we did for the finale couldn't be done any other way. We wanted to throw in some of the songs we had used throughout the course of the event, and since it was impossible to have The Algorithm appear in game, and we didn't feel we could rely on CSR's to post system chat messages, it was the only way to allow him to speak in the end. And it also allowed us to use the audio recordings from his memoirs that didn't get finished in time to distribute as they were found.

I have no problem with using canon/LET characters in secondary roles in player storylines/referring to them in events, as long as it fits the character's/s' personality and their story as we know it. They're probably up to a lot more things than the main storyline could possibily include or that could pertain to it. As long as no one's doing something with those characters that would break the bounds of credibility or the universe logic such as we know it (ie. no claiming that your event character is Flood's illegitimate son or that you're romantically involved with Agent Grey).
EDIT TO ADD: Since I hit the Submit button too soon... In other words, I think what you did by having the LE characters posting to the A:B forums was legit at the least, and very clever and well-written overall.
