Abilities turning off

Yeah this issue seems to have become bigger after the last patch, i've found Dual Pistol Execution is the worst for it, as per usual.

Punt i've found is pretty bad for it also.

Deadly throw and the second-highest level Artillerist code nuke also no longer work for me at all in IL.

Alas I have killed two theories today
1) Damage from outside interlock interrupting/killing ability
doesn't look like it
I was in 1 on 1 interlock, no one around to provide outside damage, and lost machine gun kick

2)something else on family timer restting
Sky-High Sidekick does a family timer for machine gun kick, but did not help
Using it as a finishing move in interlock and it came back.


I'm so confused

I was trying to farm Tengu with an alt.

This is how it went.

  • Ran up and shot at him in grab tactics, missed.
  • IL, grab tactics for a few rounds until off balance.
  • Change to speed and click on Aerial takedown (This was the first time I tried to use it, I literally logged on and went straight to Sakura).
  • Nothing happens, the number didn't flash, no IS was put in reserve for it, nothing, it was if I wasn't even clicking on it.
  • I kept trying and still nothing happened, eventually the symbol in my hotbar went gray and I was still clicking on it in frustration. Now that it was gray every time I clicked on it it told me "Target must be off balance for you to use Aerial Takedown on them".
THAT is the annoying part, the fact it tells you you can't do it but when you can it doesn't let you.

Dual Pistol Execution stopped working for meh.
So right now I can't use hacks in interlock and DPE doesn't work either. It's extremely annoying!

Indeed, was dueling yesterday and every time I hit Suicidal Butterfly or Iron Guard it just flashed red and then flashed off, didn't miss, didn't hit, didn't trigger.

Staggering throw turned itself off for about two minutes yesterday, then turned itself back on and was fine after that.

Sniper shot and some other handgun abs have been randomly switching themselves off alot more lately, too. And concealment breaking seems to have increased since the patch. Not sure what is causing this break but its very frustrating!

ok I've just really had this problem a lot today.

  1. activated in the Hotbar
  2. flashes till the decision moment and turns off
  3. doesn't show how much IS will be removed when activated
  4. completely random with no pattern whatsoever and can happen with almost any abilities
  5. solved with a relog

these are the points I've found to be 100% accurate.

^^I think it has something to do with using the block tactic.  This happens when im using block and for whatever reason interlock pauses and kicks both opponents out of interlock.  The system gets stuck on block even though you have selected another tactic.  Only way to fix it is to relog.  An easy way to test this is to fight Gargoyle in Widows Moor.  Interlock breaks so often there that using block can cause this bug almost every time.

I would suspect that it has something to do with the fix they've tried to do on stopping the spamming of abilities.

Ive run into the problem pack-hunter mentioned way before update 50.  It might be worse now for some but the problem has always been there.

Oh yeah, i know it's been around for a while like i said in an earlier post before the update. Where abilities would blink red and not go through, now they don't even blink red they just turn off. Thats why i think it has something to do with the spam fix.

It seems that the timer bug from early Live has been fixed. I wish they'd put these things in the Patch Notes... first the /invoke exploit, now this one.. posting that things that need to be fixed are fixed only shows that the dev team is doing something SMILEY

Just tested all over Megacity in varying conditions of lag, it seems that the doubling abilities/break family timers bug is gone.
