My newest theory:Old Peanut Head would not be able to fully jack into the Matrix ever again since those special killcode bullets were used on him. Maybe he found a way to circumvent the security of the killcode in a fashion by being able to project a weak holographic projection of himself but he certainly won't be able to totally enter the Matrix and run amok ever again. He still might theoretically be able to have his emo projection in mood /hurt babble out a few weak utterances every now and then."Kid" Popper is simply not smart enough to pull off a hoax like this - he can barely tie his own shoelaces.

That was before he got pwnt. Doesn't prove anything other than the fact that Morpheus had no problem leaving / getting kicked out of the Matrix for a while.
Either one of two things occured:
1. The Assassin shot Morpheus with special bullets that prevent him from ever entering the Matrix again.
2. Morpheus made a deal or bargain with The Merovingian to stage his own death.
I find the latter possibility highly unlikely, but hey, I've seen stranger things.

I see both of your view points, and would agree with elements of each.
It is rather convenient that Morpheus has been prompted to appear in this way. I also note that this RSI has never overtly purported to be Morpheus. My time within The Matrix has taught me that things are rarely as simple as they first appear.
The recent developments concerning Cryptos have brought in to question as to what lengths The Machines will resort to; in order to preserve the simulation. Furthermore, the comments made by "the apparition" have omnious connotations if we are to believe it was truely Morpheus.
The Pact is of incalculable importance to the survival of human-kind. But it might be that The Machines are less concerned with adherring to those points which do not best suit them: Were Neo discovered to have been imprisoned in Zero One, it would inflame many to the point of War. (Hmmm....Do I smell The General?)
I stress that this is solely speculation at this stage: Nor need it reflect on Machinists, who I have found to be most sincere in their efforts to preserve The Peace. I simply suggest that it is not impossible that The Machines hold a secret agenda in their treatment of humans.
Whilst I would not condone the extemist activities which Morpheus have previously displayed, it is more easy to see the reasoning behind them, when considering the possibility of a Machine plot as discussed above.
Previously, I have disagreed with the EPN's use of Code Pulses; being led by the The Machine directorate that they were detrimental to The Matrix. However, from my experiences of them during this incident, I am less convinced that they have any lasting effect. During this incident, I engaged in securing the outer cordon of the gathering; to avoid Bluepills witnessing the happenings. Other than this Bluepill implication, is anyone aware of any other damage which these Code Pulses cause?
If the means justify the end (i.e. The rescue of Morpheus), I believe that Code Pulses have a case as a legitimate tool; especially if precautions can be put in place, to reduce the potential of Bluepill exposure. Unless someone can tell me otherwise....(?)
((An enjoyable event but why is EPN taking the lead of the rescue of Morpheus? Surely a little mainstream Zionite action is not impossible? Did I see Stigmatism is to be the new Zion Liasion on Syntax? May be things will improve soon....))

Rare, a little question out of curiosity: those numbers the Kid talked about to his operator - were they random an independent of the circles, or somehow calculated?
zeroone506 wrote:Rare, a little question out of curiosity: those numbers the Kid talked about to his operator - were they random an independent of the circles, or somehow calculated? I can answer this as I was one of the people who ended up doing all of this. I can scan my copy of the map in which has the calculations on the bottom but i'll try and explain. So, you take the time that it took for the signal to return to the point of the pulse, which were the times that Michael was saying, and multiply it by the speed, which was 15 000 000 metres per second. This gives you the distance to the signal from the point of origin. Because you don't know the direction though, that distance becomes the radius of the circle that gets drawn on the map. By setting of three pulse you can determine the exact spot, as it must be where all three intersect, hence the term triangulation. You need three because with two of them there will be two points of intersection and theres no way to know which. I hope that clears it up. Like I said, it was really cool to have another way to get involved in the event. Rare, this is the type of stuff that makes an event all that much better. Keep it up!
Did you just go there and wait? or was a code-pulse device used... If it's the latter it means he was there some time in the past.
Skill wrote:Did you just go there and wait? or was a code-pulse device used... If it's the latter it means he was there some time in the past. We used code pulse devices. Just think of it like, sonar or something to that effect. As long as the signal it was rebounding off of remained at the same point, the triangulation works. Obviously he stayed put because we found the signal successfully.
If this really is Morpheus, why doesn't he just tell the Kid where he is so he can be rescued?
Illyria
You asked the question Kid, so I'll answer it for you.
When does belief become fact? When you have fact.
I believe in Morpheus. I believe in Neo. You are not Morpheus or Neo and when you take someone else's name to create an organzation that continually puts the Truce at risk, I see know reason to place faith in you. You are simply on a wild goose chase to justify the crimes you have already committed. Morpheus would not risk the Truce for something so vague. I will never forget that you helped save Zion. But it is clear to me that your value is only realized when you follow orders, not when you give them.
The Machines have lied yes. They've violated the Truce more than once and this latest revelation raises grave concern about the Machiens and EPN. They took action against awakenings because too many where happening. Zion is the only organization authorized by the terms of the Truce to awaken redpills, yet your organization not only violates the Truce by awakening redpills, your actions at times harm both the system and the bluepills themselves. Zion awakens those who are ready. You illigitimately push the limits of awakenings for no good reason. If ever there were a ligitimate cause for the Machine's deception, you have given it to them on a silver platter.
If Morpheus is alive, you can't possibly know his agenda. You can't even know if he wants you trying to reveal this about him. You will do what you do. Morpheus has shown his belief is worth listening to. The council understood that. You have shown your belief is reckless and without cause. If Morpheus returns, we will listen to what he says, not you.
In the mean time, Zion will continue to overcome the problems you so selfishly create that threaten the stability of the Truce.
If this really is Morpheus, why doesn't he just tell the Kid where he is so he can be rescued? Illyria
There could be a number of reasons. Perhaps the chance of a successful rescue is very slim, given where he is. Maybe Morpheus is noble enough to understand that a rescue can come at another time and at this point it is his message that matters. Maybe he knows that it is only a matter of time before he can completely come back, as it seems he has been return for longer intervals each time he appears. Maybe it is a recording as stated somewhere above. Maybe, its not Morpheus. Its too early to tell, but I will gladly work towards finding out what the truth is. After all, isn't that what this is all about? Fight for Freedom Fight for Truth Fight for Neo

Great event, to bad i couldn't stay all the way to the end
I just wonder what will happent to the EPN if Morpheus returns....
