Anyone play this OK on Windows 2003?

I'm wiping my hard drives today and thinking of wapping 2003 Server on instead to have a play about with instead of XP Pro.

Im not worried about 2003 itself, just whether MxO will play OK on it

I think it's more of a matter of what graphics card you're running.

Windows Server 2003 = Windows XP with more networking and hosting tools, same goes for Windows 2005 Media Center.

I heard Windows Vista will have a lot of new features.

I heard that with Vista, Microsoft will be trying to make sure that games run way better on it so that everyone uses it for games.

MXO plays great on win xp pro 64 for me.  Biggest problem seems to be 64bit drivers.

Any particular reason why you would want to run server for games?

Back to topic, you should have now issues running it.  If you do have issues please post

I planned to install 2003 so that I could play around with the server tools and utilities.

However in the interests of time and simplicity I reformatted with XP
Pro - reading about the Radeon drivers on 2003 and how many changes
needed to be made to get  certain cards to run correctly put me
off.

I'm not adverse to a little tinkering, but my priority was getting the system up and running ASAP

Good luck with that.  And tell us what happens.  SMILEY
