Hello there,

I've just recently come back to the game after a few months off of playing some other MMO's and single player games. After installing the game and bumbling around a bit, I have noticed some strange texture issues that seem to occur randomly and escalate in scale until an inevitable hard system crash, causing a manual shutdown and several attempts to reboot in order to get it working again.

Another cause doesn't seem to be the environments so much (though I have noticed some problems) as the character models. Clothing will suddenly unbind and stretch out and make really crazy patterns.

Thinking it was a driver issue, I went and installed the latest ATI Catalyst drivers, 5.13. This had no effect. I haven't experienced these issues in any other game that I've played for the past few months.

Since I might not be able to describe the problem in words so much, I have screenshots here.

Should you need system information just let me know, as its quite a lot of information.

Also I'd like to add that I have run full system scans on the MxO launcher and I still have the same problems.

there is 2 things going on there.

A) Your video card overheated and you need a new one

Or

B)You alt+tabbed in the loading area

Also having the same problem, thought it was a driver problem as it
only just started after i updated my drivers to the new catalyst ones.
That and im sure its not over heating, anyways i put a ticket in at the
ATI support, just waiting to see what they say. Also having no problems
in any other games....

I will let you know if ATI come up with anything...

Before you complain to ATI, I would like to point out another interesting thing. When I go to do a full scan, there are 3 files that are corrupted and get patched every single time I have the error, only to get corrupted again. A friend of mine ingame also experienced choppiness and noticed that it patched the same things with each full scan. Something about the object.pkb's and other things is wonky, and I believe MxO is at fault here.

Dont trade in your graphics cards!

Could it have anything to do with a Memory Leak? How much memory do you have?

Have you monitored the temps on your processer and video card. HIgh temps could be the problem.  makes sure you have your fans set up right in your case.

All temperature's are working fine and within acceptable ranges. Also, please take into consideration that I have been away from the game for several months with no problems with any other game. World of warcraft ran fine, FEAR ran fine, Call of Duty 2 ran fine with a very good frame rate, I play Counter Strike Source just about every day with no problems, Need for Speed most wanted runs fine, as does Rome Total War, as does Path of Neo, Guild Wars, Star Wars Galaxies, Planetside, Robohordes, and Doom 3. All of which I've been playing in the past couple of months with no problems whatsoever.

Every time I do a full scan it patchs the same 3 player and object files and it will run well for a period of time until they become corrupted again. This time varies, as it can be between 10 minutes after full scanning or 3 hours or so. That said, I've had to run full scans about 6 times today.

I also have a gigabyte of RAM, and the swapfile is on a different drive than the one windows is on, which, to my knowledge, should help keep things smooth since it doesn't have to read from multiple locations at once on one drive.

Yea i got a reply that pretty much told me to ask the game developers,
typical. My set up is pretty much the same as yours Ximanyd3 Im having
no problems with any other game, which all happened about the same time
as downloading the latest drivers and possibly the last patch but i
cant be sure. Ive been playing since beta with no problem and can play
Battlefeild 2 without a problem. Which leaves me at SOE having the
problem with the game i guess i dono. Anyways help would be good...

Want to get things back to normal before the test server SMILEY

The only time I can remember my game doing that is when my graphics card used to get hot.  This looks like a job for the TSR

Please listen to me, I had this problem before.

For the file issue, Make sure those files are write-able by going into the game folder and looking for the files and right click and see if they are write-able.

It is prolly the video card over heated because i had a ATI 9800 XT and it overheated and i got problems likes this before, so i switched to nvidia and never had problems since.

I've noticed that those are the same files it patches for me as well. Also, Warboy, I dont think its overheating considering I have about 7 fans on my tower and I've played countless other games that were more demanding than MxO without trouble.

Considering every other game runs fine, I'd rather not spend $500 on a new graphics card just for MxO.

Well, We called this the "Pipe effect" in the game area. Its happens rarely. But it is the video card. the 9xxx series of ATI is big for overheating. It doesnt matter how many fans you have. I had a cooling system and it still overheated. Please. Dont question what i ran into in the past.

Excuse me? But I think I will question it considering what your telling me. Basically I can run any game in the world except for MxO, and the only cure is to get a new card because ATI can't make a decent card?

My suggestion? That they fix glck.ltb, gameobject.pkb, and rezmap.ltb

Its not my computer's fault that they have a bug in the system, considering that I played this game for a YEAR without running into any of these problems, only to play other games flawlessly and return to the game to find that it decides not to work sometimes. And I mean sometimes. After a full scan I'm usually good for a number of hours.

So please dont assume my tower is a volcano and the graphics card is immersed in lava, it happens to handle everything else fine. Everything else.
