Conceal

Conceal is breaking a ton all of a sudden this month on vector at least. Many times i could stay still for anywhere from 3 seconds to an entire minute and when I go to switch from Escape and Evasion to Conceal,I either lag in between as to where every red nearby sees me or I get the message that I move and interrupt my ability when I am not even moving.

Also I am usually using this at 20-30 meters from the target and other hostile players.

Anyone else have this problem?

This happens to me alot as well, mainly when I'm changing from escape and evasion to conceal, this problem has been around for a long time.

Yeah the bug has been about for some time now. When i had 512 meg in my comp i just couldn't use sniper cause my lag kept pulling me out of conceal. Now with 2 gig i still find myself getting hit out for no apparent reason.
I'v noticed that theres a couple of spots in 01 that will knock u out of conceal as soon as u go into it and also the side ledges in DM where Raider is, you can't use conceal.

Happens a ridiculous amount of times to me, I figured it was maybe because my PC can lag from time to time but at fan faire it seemed to happen even more frequently and those PC's don't lag on max detail.

Hmm I'll give that a shot....but the error message that I'm moving when I'm not seems lag related.

I think I know what breaks it.

Basically, where you are on the server is sometimes different from where you are client-side. This happens I believe from latenecy issues. From how I see it, you conceal in one place where you are clientside. But, the server quickly re-synchronizes you to your actual location. So, it counts that you move, and you break concealment because you "move" to the new location.

To fix this I usually use an ability with an animation or do a quick /jackout or Alt+X to re-synch myself with the server, then move again to cancel the jackout. That will place you clientside where you actually are on the server. This for me at least fixes concealment breaking.

Well so much for that,it has broken 3 of 4 times today so far with having rifles already set and the ability on.

I think it is server latency and the mismatch of locations between the server and client as was stated by another poster.

Yeah it defo ain't the switchin styles. I clicked onto that when i was lvl up and i always make sure to have rifles style on.

I find it happenin alot more when u'r near the edge of an object i.e. mara bridge, right at the fence.
