Gregory Ingus is an anomaly from a previous version of the matrix.  As he approached the door to meet the Architect, Ingus's hovercraft fell under attack by sentinels.

Ingus contacted Zion command and requested Zion send a team to rescue his doomed hovercraft.

Ingus - "Zion Command this is Ingus of the Exodus hovercraft. "I'm" requesting emergency assistance. We are under attack by Sentinels. I repeat we are under attack by Sentinels.

Commander - "We can't risk the lost of more hovercrafts for a suicide mission such as this. We're sorry Ingus, but you're on your own. May god be with you.
## END OF TRANSMISSION....

The hovercraft crashed while he was still jacked in, leaving none of his crew alive. In the matrix Ingus collapsed in the hallway leading to the Architect. In the real, Ingus fell from his seat while still jacked in.

The Sentinels suddenly fell under attack by a Rogue Squad of Sentinels with blue eyes.  This rogue squad happened to be reprogrammed by The Merovingian himself.  They recovered Ingus's body and transported him to (a) secluded location on the earth's surface.

The Merovingian felt that having the anomaly in his possession would prove quite useful...the only problem was the attack left Ingus in a coma.

The Merovingian kept Ingus's body safe guarded by rogue machines, hoping one day Ingus would awaken to aid his cause...

...and that day came, shortly after the sixth version of the anomaly: (When) "Neo" reached the source, Ingus suddenly awoke. 

He was greeted by The Merovingian in a construct and the frenchman explained to him what happened. However Ingus had trouble speaking he was unable to say words such as "I", "me", or anything referring to oneself.

The Merovingian was amused with "The One" being somewhat fragile, but still considered Ingus a potentially powerful ally. So the frenchman coded a speech program to help rehabilitate Ingus's speech pattern. It was a "3rd person speech program" which allows Ingus to identify himself everytime he speaks of, himself

Now The Merovingian chuckles everytime he speaks to Ingus.

When reminded by the frenchman that it was Zion that left Ingus for dead and that it was the frenchman that rescued him, Ingus joined the Merovingian organization.

"The Merovingian - If you betray me you will die."

Ingus chuckles.

"The Merovingian - You find that amusing? Yes? No?"

"Ingus - No. However, Ingus does share the same exact motto as you do."

To distance himself from his former RSI state such as having black hair as some of you red pills have seen him throughout the megacity, Ingus died his hair red and dawned a wicked sense of humor that he had buried deep down due to the pressure of being the savior for the human race. No longer dawning a prophet duster he now dawns black leather.

Now aligned with the Exiles of the matrix, Ingus only has one purpose: Hunt down the ones that left him for dead one by one: Zion...and any Machinist that get in his way
