Having recently returned from a very long hiatus, I am looking to join a crew for the Machines.

I am looking for a crew that is not only heavy role-play (Out of Character chat is not allowed), but one which is active in the live events that occur on the server.

My gameplay times are typically from 10pm - 1am Pacific time, and occasionally a couple of hours during the day (10am - 5pm).

I have been playing MMORPGs since Meridian 59, and am currently a guild leader in the Crimson Alliance, a heavy role-play guild on the Emerald Dream server in World of Warcraft.  Before that I was with the Crimson Alliance on the Empire side in Star Wars Galaxies.

I have returned to Matrix Online for several reasons.  The combat is much more the way I expected, the weekly / monthly live events are very desired, and the futuristic setting is one I have been missing in an MMORPG.  I will not stop my play in World of Warcraft, but I have considerably scaled it back to the occasional level 70 raid and levelling up an alt for the guild.

If any guild out there matches what I am looking for, please reply.

Ok finding a machine faction who arnt allowed to be OOC I very much doubt you will find any faction like that so you might want to change that bit

My crew, the Equinox is only OOC in team chat.  Moreover, we have a creative backstory.  Contact me (Eleutherophobia) the next time you're in.

Well, it would seem the Glitch Society has this to say in their rules:

Try to be in character (IC) as much as possible, especially when in conversation with other factions or in area chat. You should always be in character during Live Events.

Faction chat is now considered IC. OOC (out of character) chatter is of course still allowed (!), but this should be properly highlighted through the use of brackets. E.g. (( like this )) or ( like this ).

As for the forums, try to remain IC as much as possible.

Sounds like they're IC to me.  While I would like no OOC at all, OOC discouraged is the next closest thing.

It would seem my previous character "SuperFrame" survived all this time, so I have changed the topic of this message to reflect that, as I'll be playing him.

I can confirm that. SMILEY

But yeah, we do OOC as well as long as it's properly denoted. It's part of the fun of being in the faction!

I try to remain in character most of the time, but when you catch me farming, missioning, or in faction chat, there is no in character.  There is only me talking out of my *CENSORED*.

We have fun in the ID both out of and in character, and there will almost never be an in character statement on the faction chat.  I was in a faction that had a rule on keeping faction chat IC, but the only thing I ever saw was brackets - there was no RP even in a faction chat that had a rule about it.  So good luck trying to find a group that keeps its interaction strictly limited to in character talk.

The Tetragrammaton have received your application and is awaiting review by a conscription officer. Pending a successful interview you shall be welcomed to our Faction. Of course applications submitted to multiple factions would be detrimental to your application. Please ensure that you are serious about joining us. If all goes well we shall see you in the Simulation. Oh and Welcome back! SMILEY
