I did some testing with a level 47 gunman, and came to a very sriking conclusion. When he does dual pistol EXE on a lvl 5 mob it does 900 damage. When I do it does about 1200 damage. YET when he does it on me when I have 180 resistance it only does 56 damage and not like 250 like it should be. Even when I am naked and he does that ability (I have  completely no resistance) he only does 266 damage and not like 500 or 600. What is going on here?

If you were there for testing early CR2 on QA, you'd remember that in the beginning NPCs kicked players' butts. To solve this issue a tier system of resistances was set up, described in this post:

Short story: we've changed it so the bulk of your resistance will come directly from your level, and armor and shielding will be like a bonus on top of that.

Yes but we were also able to kick the taskmaster' *CENSORED* with MA much quickly. Also then a lvl 47 HAD a chance to beat a lvl 50. And a very good chance too. I think these level differences are way too big currently. BTW thanks for reminding me of that I forgot. SMILEY
Now a lvl 12 has hardy a chance against a lvl 14 and a lvl 49 has no chance against a lvl 50.

it's more difficult yep but I see it more as a challange, and luck is a key roll in fights now, I beat 2 50 Hackers on my alt at lvl 49

LOL I can understand u beat hackers. A specially if they are unexperienced hackers. Try beat a gunman or a spy.

I heard some level 30 something come from CR1 saying that he used to be able to half-health a level 50... i guess that's why

It's not so hard to beat someone a few levels higher than you, at least between one and forty-something anyway.  If you know what you're doing you can consistently beat 'tougher' opponents in duels.  It might be my imagination but it seems as though the difference gets bigger as you approach 50, but chances are that's because of the greater equipment available to end-game players.

I would say that's BS, because under CR1 we had "zero sum combat" and a lvl 30 wouldn't even have landed ONE hit on a lvl 50.

As I posted I am taking in account clothes and noticing the difference just naked. A lvl 48 vs me naked can hardy do even half the damage, I do on him clothed.

it was one of those sacrifices, better of the two evils, if there was a way to keep it to NPC's and let other redpills be normal I'm sure they'd have done it.

well, he said with a sniper... maybe the 50 sucked? i dunno.. I think he was more like 35 but whatever lol

they should probably get rid of this crap entirely, it makes the game more level-centric

Did you call them a liar? XD

Before CR2, some 50's could kill between three and five 50's solo. It's very likely that this guy was talking out his arse a la Ace Ventura. Unless the level 50 had ability maker on, I doubt he'd get one down to three-quarters of their health. Incidentally, when I was level 8 I watched a swarm of 20's and 30's at Moriah East (Zion) attacking a single level 50 Merv. I counted 16's, 24's, 27's, 34's, and a 37. They were landing states, but his health didn't drop below full.

It was doable to 1v1 a 50 at 42 in CR1 with MA if he didn't know what he was doing, but a level 30... hmm.

If he had no Viral Deflection I suppose, it would have been doable at ~33, that's when Tengu became soloable with Arbalest, and he was a level 50 NPC.

i believe there are limitations for how much damage a certain level can do to another
