What do you think of lowbie pvp?
Is there any way we could encourage it. I have found occasions in the lower level constructs where people just run from it. Why is there this fear?
I imagine you would probably encounter this on Vector more than anywhere.. but is there any reason why lower levels shouldnt be able to pvp (apart from the obvious threat of higher levels of course )
I think it's awesome when lowbies pvp, easy CQ ftw!
Well it may just be the simple fact they are inexperienced and don't really know how to PvP, also you kinda feel bad
if you die against a guy who is 1 lvl below you that maybe another reason why they run, and also probably because they
are on a no-pvp server... Maybe they are just not interested in PvP. :/
although to be honest ive not really been to syntax a lot so i wouldnt know just a quick
in n out hehe
Lowbie PvP my dream might come true... To use Devastation Field on a load of level 2's.
I really like pvping as a lowbie.
I'd like to see more pvp competitions for levels like 25, 30, 40, 45 but it's hard to get enough people together.
Lowbies duel more often I've seen, or I just challege as a lowbie all the time to make up for pvp.
On vector the only real lowbie pvp there is is you run into another mission team and attack or theres at mara there may be a lower lvl patcher or someone that just doesnt care and recons and dies a million times.
I think it would work if you had some sort of encouragement for PvPing in the constructs. There is a lvl limit there so it would prevent the high level gank somewhat, you just need to develop some sort of incentive. If there was some way to make it so CQs gained in a construct could earn you loot....could that be possible? What other ways could it be done?
Datamine provides the paradigm... there'd have to be a reason for players to spend time in the construct and a reason for other players to attack them - like how in order to get the big bucks you have to fight someone for the datamine tap.
Hmm... I remember when, as a lowbie, I went into one of the first archives I saw another player of an opposing org. Now the way I set up my mouse one of my buttons targets the next hostile and as some of my faction mates know from datamine, I don't always pay attention to exactly what I'm targetting. Anyway I shot him I think for two rounds of combat before realising but he was complaining bitterly before I'd even stopped firing.
So really what I'm trying to say is that some lowbies (those that are newer to the game) don't see Archives as a place to pvp but rather as a place to farm and being flagged is a hinderance. Also I guess that lowbies might think about pvping in a construct if they are at the maximum level allowed because they know that, they won't be ganked.
Another problem for lowbie pvp is numbers, you don't often see many lowbies at around the same level.
Yeah when i log in as one of my non farming alts and actually go places like the constructs i try to pvp but theres seldom anyone in the constructs and if you are lucky enough to find someone they run and cry.
Kinda devalues the auto flag feature of going into a construct.
Now, if you only could get XP from your cq's when killing another player....
I predict a slight increase of lowbie pvp or at least duels. Now that meeting will occur on all three servers for the orgs, many people will be willing to create and level a lowbie to go to them. PvP/Duels... It's something to do whilst waiting for the transporter beam.
I think the main reason is that there can be a big difference between a level 34 and a level 35. Because you would do less damage to a level 35 as a level 34 it becomes extremely difficult to really kill someone even if that level 35 has only 10 resistance. With the exception of 45+ level players as they tend to need much more resistance to keep the damage down.
It's a big reason also why we find a lot of people rushing to 50 because at the end of the day it's very difficult for someone 2 levels below another to kill the other person borderline impossible. I just think we need to blur the lines a bit is all.
A strong player can kill a weak player even if the weak player is several levels higher.
There's a big gap between 49 and 50 though due to equipment.
Lowbie PvP is quite different than end-lvl (50) PvP. They haven't got the same "flexibility" in abilities nor in clothing, but they're still more unpredictable than lvl 50s because we're not used to fighting players at lower levels.
I want a large scale PvP match at lvl 25-40, that is all.
