Was this going to some proper event with missions and content? or the equivelent of the big fight we all had when rare left?

I highly doubt Rare set anything up before he left. I don't expect much more than something very smilar to the big fight.

When they should be thinking about agents hunting players again, a neo character running around like at the end of beta, a proper Agent Smith throwing his weight around, and anything else which isn't giant snowmen monsters and halloween masks.
Yeah, but that was done with a full dev team and LET. We no longer have either. If they are able to do something that isn't what you said though, I'd be really amazed.

A Dark Portal opens from that stair case in Westview, as a Sorcerer summons an Orcish Horde to conquer the Mega City. The Orcish Horde decimatesthe population of Westview, and the human survivors flee to Richland. The Orcs invade Richland, but are repelled by the Alliance of Humans and Exiles from the human kingdoms of Mara and Appolyn, and the Exile kingdom of International. The Orcs are then put into internment camps, but are then freed by a young Orc-Warchief, Neorall. Then, Ghost betrays Zion and becomes evil and summons an army of Zombies which destroys Richland. And then, well, play the Warcraft games.
