Given your PvP experience your input here means nothing to me. Rifles kicked *CENSORED*, and still do.

Edit: TBs are a part of every smart PvPer's build, if you're not boosting for PvP you're not giving yourself every chance to win.

Okay, you kind've missed his point... and hoped folks wouldn't take notice by throwing an insult in there.

TB's boost the tactics of every class by the same (20 points, if I recall, but its been a while). Thus, unless you can give me a *CENSORED* good reason why, it equally boosts classes across the board. And if we subtract 20 through all the equal signs, which basic algebra taught me, that null and voids the point of TB's.

As a side note... you could root and blind? And? So could MKT, which brings me right back to my original point of useless.

Seriously folks, I get that at some point nostalgia kicks in, but this is getting silly.

Sigh.. Rather than argue the point with you Sneaker I'll just be happy with thinking back on the volumes of players I massacred with my Rifle and how useless it didn't make me feel.

Remeber when line up the shot didn't require sneak? Oh, yeah that's 1 free fire and 2 specials that would never missed. Oh yeah then there's steady aim which was a IS drainer, but unmissable.

Just few examples of why rifles were formiddable against any load. I'm gonna try and see if I can find my old CR1 hotbar.

I did manage to find some old screenshots of me as a rifleman in CR1, I think any good Rifleman from CR1 will understand my hotbar setups and how they would make a it a formiddable load against any tree. So enjoy, ah the fond memories.............

This is dedicated to the Riflemen of CR1.

So yeah, I know there were really good rifleman in CR1, so to say they were useless is just a flat out complete utter joke.

"Your sniper shot does 584 damage"

You'll hate me for this, Crowlos, but: useless.

Nah, I don't hate ya, your just misinformed about a tree you thought was useless, 584 damage in seconds then firing away with specials that did more damge in CR1 then in CR2, negaive states that lasted long so yeah....

Sneaker I've been shot by you for less than 600 damage sniper shots in CR2.0 mate, that is useless. Just like your combat rez build (rofl?) it didn't hurt a bit.

My favourite screen shot is the one with Sattakan trying to work out what happened, because we all know how unusual it is for him to get killed in PvP... rofl

And I have yet to see anything to change my mind.

I'm looking at your hotbar, and I see nothing special. "Misinformed"? There's not exactly a plethora of abilities within the Rifleman tree, or on your hotbar, my friend.

You have yet to counter my point of MKT doing everything rifleman does, but better. Doubley-so with regards to a Hacker in all aspects except Stealth. Or the reason that Riflemen were few and far in-between during CR1.

You just pass over any argument I make, and go straight to "You're ignorant!". Problem is, in a debate with me, that doesn't cut it.

You say that as if it's an unknown anomaly - I'm using Sniper Shot without Line up the Shot.

Doom, his build in that screenshot looks to be pure rifleman, with all the damage buffs therein. Mine's a Rifles/Healer hybrid, a whole other beast entirely. To compare the two is to compare, well, apples and oranges.

But you know that, you're just trolling.

So, if you're going to troll, at least provide an intelligent argument alongside it. The smartest thing you've done in this thread was to leave before you got even further behind.

So MKT has the range that a Rifleman has? Last time I checked the MKT was very dependant on being close enough to use Analyse Weakness back then. In fact if an MKT didn't hit you with subduing throw, run up and analyse weakness, staggering throw and throat cutting throw... Just how are they killing people again?

A rifleman had could slow you from much further, and had more CT bonuses to counter DR, which was something that still effected MKTs, so if the MKT wasnt boosted they had a good chance to miss you with their knives. a rifleman has no need to get close to a target, which in my eyes is the defining feature to a 'ranged attack class'. more often than not a rifleman would kill people before they ever got within melee range.

MKTs were also useless in interlock, they had no abilities at all. And a rifleman while only having one ability worth noting, if loaded with 400 VD mind you, being rifle butt-smash a rifleman still had very contendable CT rolls.

*edit*

You say that as if it's an unknown anomaly - I'm using Sniper Shot without Line up the Shot. an unknown anomaly? to me yes it is, when i snipe people i actually have an intention to kill them, not tickle them. what is the point of sniper shot without line up the shot? higher chance to miss, less dmg, and you're wasting all that time getting into sneak and sniping someone for a low damage hit of 600?

As if you were always Sniper/Healer.

The defining feature of Sneaker's loadout is that it is entirely dependent upon him having back up.  It is for support only.  Now if he hits you for a 600 damage sniper shot, and then Illyria hits you for a 1,200 damage sniper shot, and then Sattakan breathes on you, you're probably headed for a trip to the loading area.

The loadout is completely useless if he's alone, so he's probably not going to use it.  Unless of course he is a glutton for punishment.

The whole argument as to whether or not Rifleman was indeed "pwn" in CR1 is tired.  The argument that CR1 > CR2 is tired.  Let's look at it from both perspectives rather than "I'm right, and you're wrong so *CENSORED*."

Pro-CR1 Rifleman.

Deadly Shot stunned.  As we are all aware stun was overkill in CR1.  This is a good thing for riflemen as it allowed them to fire (at the same speed that pistols and SMGs fired) round after round at their target.  Virtually every ability in the Rifleman's repertoire was aimed (no pun intended) at keeping their opponent in place so that they could wait patiently for their death.  All at extreme range.  No need for melee.  If you were a good rifleman then yes, your target would be dead before they could be in range for their attacks.

Anti-CR1 Rifleman.

Many of Rifleman's abilities rooted, which was utterly useless considering the root was broken on the next successful hit.  Steady Aim was also a useless ability, as it drained the precious IS required to continue using your abilities; and let's face it, Rifleman's normal attacks were pretty weak at times so it was completely dependent upon having enough IS for the next Deadly Shot/Crippling Shot/Immobilizing Shot/*CENSORED* Shot etc...

Pros and cons.  Something any good debate cannot live without.
