It was funny until it got to the obligatory "durr teh sequilz suk" part.  Does everyone have a contract where they have to mention that? -_-

Now that I can post.... you forgot the image tag line:
"I actually remember being entertained by both the sequels while in the theater.  They just don't hold up nearly as well in later comparison."

Thoughts.

Thank you. I did not forget to post it. There were two reasons why I did not. I did not want to steal all his content. He provides a permalink for his images that does not include the tag. And I was also curious to see if there's anybody else out there who actually reads this stuff. I think that 15% of his stuff is just gold. And to go back to topic...

With this comic and this tag he represents 98% of all people out there who watched the movies.

WE'Z SPECL! WEZ 2%!!

Personally I liked the sequals. They had their issues, true, but looking at the depth of the world in the first (Humans=Good - Machines=Evil / Black and White) compared to the sequals (Machines/Programs/Exiles/Humans all want to live) showed that considerable thought had gone into the Matrix universe which could not have been shown in one single movie and it had massive scope for storytelling as shown by the Animatrix.

Honestly, for me, without the sequals the Matrix would have just been an awesome good vs evil action movie but the world created probably wouldn't have captured my imagination as much.

Still.. funny cartoon anyway!

True, without the sequels, there wouldn't have been an MxO. The whole world of the Matrix would have been left quite unexplained.

Also, xkcd, it's what I ea.. read for breakfast, every MO, WE and FR.

My complaint has more to do with the fact that saying that the sequels sucked seems to have become obligatory at even the slightest reference to The Matrix.  If you didn't like the sequels then that's fine with me.  But numerous times I'll see someone (mainly from a source outside of the usual Matrix internet circles, i.e. websites and forums) inevitably tack some kind of "the sequels sucked" comment after every mention of it.

It's been almost six years and I still see this.  This is why I joked that many people seem to have a contract with someone who pays them to say that the sequels sucked whenever possible.
