I was wondering if anyone else gets this bug. Someone sent me a /tell describing the same problem a few nights ago so I know it's not just me, but I'm not sure why it happens.
I could be in Interlock using specials fine, and thenthe next instant they don't work at all. They are not greyed out, they have color to be useable, but I just do the normal punching. To fix this, I either keep spamming different specials until one works or change my fighting technique a few times during rolls, and it seems to undo it.
It's very annoying, I was wondering if it's just for Karate, or if anyone else experiences this?

It's not just with karate - I have had it happen as a duellist as well.

Have you found a trend as to why this happens?
If I can recall, it's usually when I get debuffed where the specials turn grey, and then I either get sweeped or the timer runs out, and the abilities can be used again, yet sometimes they seem to be frozen.
And it continues onto the next Interlock fight, it's only when I fix it does it work again.

Thanks, that might be the special that unlocked it that I was talking about. I'll try it next time!

I've been having this problem a lot lately, as well as another. When I go into interlock, it switches my fighting style from Karate to a pistol - and changing the tab or activating Karate does nothing. As Phadeos said, some specials will fix it - I usually use Overhand Smash to fix it.

I'll fill you in on the cause: :smileytongue:
During interlock when you give someone a status effect, (I.E. Dazed, Staggered, Off-Balance), and you use a special attack that can only be used during that status effect, and the effect wears off before the attack makes it to the current roll table, then it shows up as a block, and then the system freaks out because they think a move is being launched, but it isn't. So technically, the system's still waiting for the special attack to happen, but those four moves just happen to be on a partial re-use system with them. That, and they are the only specific special attacks that are not in a certain Martial Artist tree or damage, counter. Ki Charge and Ki Blast are on Karate and Aikido, but their damage has nothing to do with the two trees: They're simply melee damaging, and they're usable, no matter what. As for Overhand Smash and Guard Breaker, they're the only two non-specific-Martial Artistry special attacks.
Who knows EXACTLY why they do that, but that's what I've come to believe.

Use a special with a different timer, at least select, let it go into the box then change it if you have to. That should work. Works for me.

I get it as well. It's very annoying, but can usually be solved by using a special move from a different "family" Of course, this does no good at all if you are a very low level and the only special move you have is Cheap Shot and it stops working because of this bug. Then you are basically screwed and have no choice but to log out.

I get this all the time using kung fu. Usually Misdirect Punch fixes it, either that or machine gun fist combo.

I have had this bug since launch. Just the other day, I was dueling someone. 4 duels in a row I had this bug, and during which I kept rolling out, did swirling ki summon to clear it, and reinterlocked. This didnt work like it used to. I ended up surrendering the first 3 duels. Switched to a different loadout then back to karate grandmaster, and began another duel. Straight away I had this bug. I rolled out twice trying to clear it to no avail. Eventually near the end of the fight it had cleared somehow, but it was far too late. This always happens to my in PVP as well. The best way to clear it is to use a silver bullet or stake etc during the fight. If you have one that is! Message Edited by SLA_Seth on 01-16-200611:07 AM
