(pst, I'm one of em!! lol) there is a ton of trash talking, but hardly anyone takes it personally and if someone is giving you a super hard time just ask em if they wanna cyber which will inevitably make you both laugh.

Honestly, Vector is a lot of fun. But if you do decide to join the 24-7 war, make sure you take care of a few things.
1) Write your will. Just kidding... but be sure to watch your back and surroundings. Level 50 stealthers will pwnzor your candy level 16 butt.
2) When coding, choose an empty area close to a hardline... but don't park yourself next to it. You're just asking for a butt-kicking then. Believe me, experience speaks volumes for this.:smileywink:
3) Upload frequently and often. See #2 for the reasons why.
4) AFK is for lowbies. Go to the loading area if you need a break... or clean out a small/easy mission area.
5) Get a good faction that will back you up. Just ask around for the best factions; everyone has their own opinion, but there a few that always stand out.
6) Stay away from Mara. Period. Trust me.
7) If you ain't interested in fighting, try a /wave emote. Usually that will do the trick. But don't be surprised if it gets ignored; there are a few of us who don't subscribe to that convention.
Parties get crashed on Vector. Just make sure you've got max viral resists (or w/eTF they are called these days) and you should be fine. A good doctor loadout in the room doesn't hurt either.
9) Agents are still not your friends.
10) Remember, it's just a game. The Machinist who kills you today isn't out to **bleep** you off; he's in the mood to have fun, just like you, and his idea of fun involves stealth and a well-timed Bulldog. *shrug*
EDIT: Yay! I made Controller! *happy dance*

zip makes some great pts above here too. number 7 is very true. i've often made the error of popping out into a red controlled hL. (now mara c doesn't apply here, if mara c is mach/mero controlled and you pop out, you will die) a quick hi or a wave goes a long way.
also, you make your own destiny. if you are known as a pvp now ask questions later person, you will be a target wherever you go... if you are able to get along at multi org parties without causing a lot of trouble, people will cut you some slack too!
Ok, let me throw my 2 cents in...
Vector is fun. It's much more fun to level there than the other 2 servers.
Why? Mostly because its hostile at level 16. You're perma-flagged so you tend to act differently there. But don't believe all of the myths!
- Vector is not filled with SUPER L33T PvPers waiting to pwn you the second you jack in.- Hardlines aren't all deathtraps. Only a few hardlines are ideal camping sites.- People on Vector whine too. It's ironic, but it's the truth.- Despite being a hostile server, there are some REALLY cool people there. As proven, *unpleasant person* tend to flock to the non-hostile servers. Why? Because you can't smacktalk very well while perma-flagged.
Missions are fun. It's a great feeling checking every corner and scouting for high-level redpills. Being cautious at all times intensifies the experience. The moment you see red, you'll freeze up, even if that red may be a lower level.
PvP is great! The only safe place is the loading area. You never know when someone will pop-up out of nowhere to get you. I love it!
As mentioned earlier, there are some really cool people there. Not everyone is a drooling PvP bot that aggros the moment they target you. However, there are some who do thrive on killing lowbies and will camp mission areas and whatnot. But its all good. Most of them suck anyway and only live when friends save them (not saying any names).
I've leveled 2 50s on Recursion and 1 50 on Vector. Out of the three, Vector was the most fun and I highly recommend it. However, if PvP ain't your thing and you're more interested in RP and story content...then a non-hostile server should be avoided.
"Choice. The problem is choice."
