Hello!

Just got the game via Direct2Drive and installed it. Its at the patch, but I seem to have a problem. The patch is freezing at:

 scanning: xptl.dll

How long should the patch take roughly? I am using client 7.5583.

any assistance would be great! I wanna get jacked in SMILEY

Hi,

Interesting, according to my launcher 7.5583 is the current version.

I'm not sure how current the version on direct2drive is, maybe it upgraded your launcher to that version and needs to update your game version now.  Either way I don't think it should get stuck on that xptl.dll file.  I checked in my directory and that's only 8k.  I believe if you close the patcher and open it back up it will pick up right where you left off.

Good luck

If you are having trouble patching double check to see if your firewall or Anti Virus is disrupting your connection.

You can try a clean boot:

To disable background programs:

1.Select the START button.
2.Select RUN.
3.Type in "msconfig" (without the "SMILEY
4.Press OK
5.Select the STARTUP tab.
6.In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.
7.Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.

To read more about clean boots, you should visit Microsoft's website:
