As I understand it, when in interlock and both players select to use a special move in the same round the way it is calculated is Accuracy vs. Accuracy with the higher accuracy roll succeeding and the other missing.  I don't like this because it encourages people to focus mainly on accuracy.  I think that a better calculation would be the difference between defense and accuracy such as this.

P1 Accuracy Vs. P2 Defense
     180          -        146        = +34

P2 Accuracy Vs. P1 Defense
     178          -        140        = +38

P2's attack would land in this setup, instead of P1's attack landing as things are currently.  I would like to see this happen so that other values will be important in interlock.

I think its fine how it is.  People who concentrate on purely accuracy arent going to be very effective.  Ive had more success with lower accuracy builds with higher defense than builds with higher accuracy and poor defense.

Meh, I like it how it is.  Besides, what would you do with Initiative?

Initiative would still be just as valuable as it is now.

Regen/Resist works great. I only wear one piece of clothing with accuracy.

youre gonna get hit no matter what, per the greater randomness of cr2 rolls. anyone who doesnt understand this by now is just dense. your only hope is to specialise in one or the other, the whole idea is to have VERY good accuracy OR defense. 'average' anything in cr2 is a lost fight waiting to happen, the randomness will get you, and yer little dog, too!#$

If you wait for your opponent to use all their IS by having decent resistance, you're able to use your specials and roll higher than their normal speed/power/grab attacks. You do not need a ton of defense or accuracy. You need to stay alive and let the randomness (and your STATS) do the rest of the work for you.

Different strats.

Added benefit of high defense is your opponent is less likely to draw a state on you and set up a big damage special or combo.

Which means if you have to go for one or the other, you go for defense before you go for accuracy. Like I said, I only have one item that boosts accuracy. Four boost defense. Everything else is for IS and Health.
