Still, bungling SOE contributed to the downfall. When they bought the game, it could have been a fresh start not the first nail. Plus WB's obligatory Red-tape around everything is a bit of a stumbling block.

Either way, It's failure at launch was always going to be crippling.

The 'red-tape' excuse was a lie.

Welcome to the Beginning of the End. Now we know why Rare left when he did...he knew what was coming.

I disagree. I think it was there, but it would not suprise me if SOE did almost nothing to remove said tape.

Huh. I guess I wasn't lying; I will be here until the end. Didn't want to believe it would happen, though, even though it was inevitable, I guess.

Maybe I'll have a watch of the Matrix Movies, and remember what MxO was, what could have been, and what it gave me.

Good times were had. Sad times now.

I'm glad people are remembering the good times. We had a lot. More than a lot of games ever have had.

I've been rewatching the movies, too. Have a feeling I'll be doing that a lot in the months to come.

Aye, captain of the Nagamitsu in the fleet of Children of Zion, guess I'll have to show you just *who* owns the Matrix on it's last day of operation, won't I? SMILEY.

Wouldn't have played the game for so long if I didn't enjoy myself, my tusked friend. I remember fighting you in Centre Park quite vividly, too. You were at Fanfaire at the time, I believe.

And Synapze, I'll be trying to avoid fighting old CoZ members if I can. Wouldn't sit right with me.

Yes, its funny that the Matrix franchise has been alive dynamically for exactly 10 years, 1999-2009.   That's a good run.

You know every good franchise comes back eventually to be reintroduced to new generations, etc.   I mean look at the Terminator franchise.  So dont delete the database and all that, who knows it might come in handy again someday. SMILEY

STO is still in development. Beta will probably be beginning soon, though, because rumor has it that they are expecting it to launch late this year.

There have been a lot of cool things going on through the forums, though; updates from the writers to let us know what has been going on in the ST universe in the time between Nemesis and the beginning of the game, story contests for lifetime subscriptions, community development ideas, etc.

Sounds awesome!! SMILEY

Yeah, Star Trek is another one that came back after many years.

I'm so upset. SOE keeps their shi**y games up and shuts down the best they got.

Not playing an SOE game ever again
