You encounter a number of enemies within the simulation. Perhaps for me there was none more resourceful than Professor Gillian. No, that simply isn't the word for it at all. He was only lucky. Hrm. Resourceful's an overstatement and lucky doesn't let your luck run out without some big bang -- some kind of defining moment. Luck oftentimes turns into destiny, the luck derived from chance and fate as it would value some more than others. Then again, that's another debate for us to b*tch and moan about. A battle of philosophy. Another cause for us to fight over, oftentimes violently.
Back to my original point, then, Gillian had low people in high places looking to protect him. But don't get me wrong, this really isn't even about the late Professor at all. He was a prelude to something bigger brewing in the distance. I can feel it. I just hope that the deletion of Gillian will hinder whatever progress that the Merovingian's operatives were trying to achieve. Perhaps my best hopes would leave the Professor removed before anything useful could be attained by my true enemies. Not the Merovingian in particular, as I am well below the caliber of such a target, but those who I have had direct contact with. Lucite, Cainine, and the Demon Army bastard Lisser. These Exile programs and those lesser ones working below them will be a challenge -- one that I hope will give the Machines and Zion redpills a chance to reconcile and put away their differences, to band together against a common threat.
As stated, it's not about the Exile program so much as it's about a certain Redpill. Mr. Carroll, Insertion, is prevalent as my enemy. The bastard eludes me and while we've had our encounters in the past, he now toys with the fact that I haven't been able to get the best of him while he's thwarted my plans several times. No! This can't simply be a cause of lol mkt > guns. He's not only my nemesis but also a threat to the System. He's redirecting resources and causing mischief in ways that undermine authority. The Higher Powers that are Control will need to lock down on this one, but I'm afraid the Redpill will not be taken as a serious threat until it's too late. Until he's been taken into consideration by those such as Agent Purcell or Agent Betts, I'm on my own with this one. What's in store for all of the other Operatives out on the field?
For that matter, the times have grown very quiet and this gives reason to believe something devastating is brewing out of sight. It isn't just the appearance of the Demon Army's Lisser, but after being attacked by Tytanya and Crieses I've realized that perhaps I am moving in the right direction. Insertion certainly wants me stopped. I only need take my colleagues with me, into the answers regarding these secrets within the Merovingian's ranks.
Perhaps it's time to enlist a few others who I know serve to protect the system and make it safe for bluepills -- primarily by purging Redpills from the simulation. Trucidos and SureShot187 are both quite efficient, but I feel I am starting to take on the mentality of a Cypherite. I shake the feeling everytime I put reflective, retrospective thought to it... I serve the System, although I respect the stability that the Cypherite cause brings. It is a serenity that any Samurai can adhere to; perhaps even I can appreciate as I've broken apart from Ronin... Perhaps, yet again, I am confused. Such a state of mind is unhealthy out there, within the concrete jungle. It's not conductive to the nature of my work or to the organisation I struggle for. Perhaps in finding an enemy to the System, a mutual villain, I've justified my continued servitude to Control. But then if the Cypherites and the Machines share mutual enemies in E Pluribus Neo as well as the Merovingian's mercenaries then does that make me a Cypherite as well?
I seem so distracted by conflicting opinions I've heard and feel relentlessly strayed by the subjective point-of-views. Hrm. Getting back on track, it's the Merovingian redpills that I worry about... They attack in waves, helping sustain the existence of Exiles within the simulation. Programs wasting resources -- the code and information, the currency, of the Matrix -- on things that should not be. Threatening Order. Threatening Reason. Intervening with Purpose.
I have an enemy that is clear to me. Regardless of our differences, I have allies that come to my aid despite them. My enemies will not compromise and therefore neither will I. However, I choose to stand alone against the growing menace. No, not growing. No, not at all. It's grown in to full development. It's here. The Merovingian Operatives -- those who do not serve purpose, though perhaps with the exception of screwing with me.
Naw. They serve Cause and Effect, dished out cold. Fmmf. I suppose rather than continue to be all over the place with this, I'm going to sum it up like this: I'm going to take the iniative on this one and go for those who I know are obviously involved. Starting with Tytanya, if she can be found.

An observation of my allies. Not a declaration of Cypherite affiliation.

I'll try not to write the next one in notepad and then c/p it, as my formatting is lost entirely in the process. Kind of took away from the feel of this entry. I've got another one in the works, revolving around my departure from Ronin.
