After an idea in the update 45 discussion topic.

I would like to try and see how much ppl would like to see the current loading area storage space increased
and who thinks that the loading area storage is to small and need to be upgraded and maybe some ideas in doin so.

So lets kick it off with....

Yes i think that the loading area storage space should be increased, cuz as a veteran player i cant store a thing next to my event stuff and my abilities (wich off a lot has been sold to make room for other things)
Also i would like to store some code bits..and not have to throw them away, to make room.
Maybe its an idea to increase the stacking of the code bits from 20 to 50 or something.

Dev team...plz help us out

i asked rarebit about this in the ask the devs topic and the answer i recieved was that apparently when the boys over at monolith were coding the game they decided to include a hard limit on the ammount of space that the loading area storage could used and that they were pretty close to the limit as it is.

if only they could hook up an aditional tower on the server rack to allow the devs to give everone more of what they want : storage space

what we could hope for is that soe invests some money and has certain portions of the game re-coded to make them more developer friendly and expandable (as according to everything i have seen posted this game is a nightmare to add new content to) as a little money spent now may prevent headaches like this from popping up in the future

I don't think they "decided" to put a hard limit. I think they used sometype of variable that has a limited range, so going further than that range will break the database.

I personally think the way the storage area is implemented for codebits and abilities is wrong, but probably i'm beeing naive and there is some reason that prevents them for doing that way.

Abilities should no go to the same general-propouse spots as they do know. Instead of that, the character database should have an integer field field for each ability. If the value of that integer is 0 means you don't have that ability. When you do have it, that field stores the level of that ability.

For the codebits, each kind should just have a integer field that stores the number of them you have.

Basically, that way the current loadoing area will allow us to have all non-ablity or code bit codes, should be more than enough.

Probably, as I said, i'm being naive. The only counterpart I can currently think is that you won't be able to have two copies of the same ability. But that is ok, since you don't need two copies of the same ability: if you try to upload an ability you already have, it just gives an error message and it doesn't upload.

Yeah thats a good one, but what about if you wanna sell your ability for what reason, or trade it?
Putting up an extra server to increase our loading storage, i hope that is not to much work....cuz if most of us can remember they migrated the servers a while back...so they should have some left.

or is the mail upload their new trick/gift to us to go around the loading area thing, cuz they can enlarge it.
but then the mail interface should be changed, so that we can really scroll down to the bottom of our mail inbox.

only thing i dont like about depending on the email system for storage is this, what if the email server goes berserk and accidentally deletes all your email, or multiple peoples email, then all of the sudden you lost all your items and dont have a thing to show for it. personally i think if they cant increasse the archive space then try to increase our inventory space to accomodate.

This would definately be a plus. As a coder, I am constantly having to go into my loading area and clear code out to make space for more code. A bit of a conundrum.

it's already been asked and the answer is that we don't have enough money, we are the test dummy, the little bro who gets all the crap stuff, even though we probably have a better and bigger gaming community but we just don't have the funding, and anyway Devs are trying to fix all the bugs atm
