A MMORPG idea of mine

So, in another forum, we were talking about ideas for an MMORPG, and I came up with the idea for a SAW MMORPG.  You have players who can be detectives, Jigsaws, and victims.

Detectives: Your role is to basically stop the Jigsaws from not only killing people, but also stop them from collecting material, and building their traps. You will be given clues, and these clues will hopefully lead you to a Jigsaw. However, you must keep an eye out to make sure you don't become a victim yourself.

JigsawsYour job is to basically build elaborate traps to test people's will to live. However, you must design your traps, gather the material, and build it. You must do it right too, or else your trap can fall apart and your victims go free. However, your traps must be a test, if you build an unwinnable trap, then you get marked as "victim" and the other Jigsaws have the options to put you in their own test.  Your actions will leave clues for the Detectives, so be careful!

VictimsYou wake up in a dark room, after a few moments of conscious, you realize that you are in a Jigsaw trap. You have a certain amount of time to figure out the puzzle and escape. If you escape, you can either become a detective or a Jigsaw. However, if you die, then you return to status of Victim.

The MMORPG will take place in a city environment like MegaCity.  The Detectives will have police stations set up around the area, the victims will be citizens of the city, and Jigsaws will be living in abandoned buildings. 

The only problem I see is that I want players to be able to make unique and interesting traps, but I haven't exactly figured out how to work that out without having them make traps that are too out there.  I want them to make interesting traps, but they have to be realistic traps. 

What do y'all think?

So you want to make an MMO that's a mix between MxO, Saw and LittleBigPlanet?

It sounds better suited to a smaller game. As an MMO it would get stale pretty quickly IMO.

Interesting idea... the biggest problem is that you need to constantly transfer puzzles and unique environment renders ... that's a slow loading game on anyone's connection. Also the traps sound like a lot of work to design from a players point of view.

Fixed. SMILEY If this were an MMO it'd have more of a co-operative element to it, where Jigsaws could get together to build traps. Such co-operative physics-based building is right out of Garry's Mod.

Interesting idea but, as phi said, it's more of a concept for a smaller game.
