Um, spellcheck?
Let me ask you, do you really feel that the likes of Black Formal Gloves are actual content? They're nice, don't get me wrong, but are they really something for you to do? When you ran the quest (the same quest, mind you, over and over) to get enough of X to turn them in, did the content continue? Did that quest point you into another quest chain? Did it have anything to do with the current storyline? Does it even have a decent buff to it? Or is it just neat to have some all-black gloves (finally)?
Reviewing your list of content makes me wonder what it is, exactly, you define content to be.
PS: Again, those bug fixes, yet again, were reactive, not proactive.
If you fight over reaction and proaction, then really this entire game and everything in it is reactive. The fact that there was no MxO game made the developers react and actually make one. The fact that people complained about there not being any content made them react and provide some content. Even if you deam it to be "proactive" it's still a reaction which makes everything in this game reactive. If people had not reacted, there wouldn't be a game at all.
I suppose I should have been a little more specific. I'll give you a for instance: Lets implement Corrupted! -- Oh, snap, either there are no spawns, or there are way too many spawns. Better fix this. Or, how about this one. It's Halloween, lets plague Mega City with zombies! OMGWTFBBQ, they're making half our player base crash out. Better fix this.
Do you need more examples. Proactive (Catching major glitches before release ((Maybe spending some more man power on it?))) versus reactive (releasing something THEN fixing it, as if this is STILL some Beta game.)

Okay yeah. It's got bugs and alot of things that get implimented have new bugs in them. But even official release games that don't get constantly updated have bugs and glitches in them. "All your base are belong to us." I mean, you can't seriously expect this game to be flawless. And the Devs could have just left the game in it's horribly flawed condition and not given us any fixes.
We have a dev team who actually listens to our complaints and tries to fix them. They might not get them out in a timely manner, but we still get them. After we complained our asses off at the Corrupted quest, they fixed it in about 5 days, and 2 of those days they weren't working on it because of the weekend. I don't know who didn't use spellcheck when they made missions, but we've gotten hundreds and hundreds of fixes for them. Yeah, it's reactive, but at least we're getting some reaction instead of them saying "eh, so what?" They could have easily said "we don't care" when we were complaining about the Corrupted spawns. If the conspiracy theory that our devs don't care was true, whey didn't they just say "whatever, you wanted new content, you got it" and left it at that? And yes, if people believe this game is still in beta, then so what? If you don't want to be in a beta game, then don't be. We're at least getting new content. Not to mention the daily live events we get to progress a storyline from a multimillion dollar movie and video game story that everyone here loved (at least I hope everyone liked the movies. If you hated the matrix, why are you here?)

Please refrain from asking me why I'm here. It's the default question anytime anyone says anything negative about this game, and, quite frankly, debases any credibility anyone might hold in their argument. It's like... a last resort.
You're quite right, I don't expect this game to be flawless. There isn't a game that isn't. However, this game, moreso than any other MMO I've ever seen, read or heard about, has massive flaws in almost every aspect of it. Combat, missions, "Exciting anniversary events" (Big time roll eyes.), every aspect of it. Massive. Flaws. So it isn't as if there is a tiny bug here and there, there are some serious issues which have yet to be fixed (mostly in the vastly under-developed CR2).
Also, you have no validation in saying they could shrug and say "eh, so what". It is their job. They get paid to do that. Money. Money from your subscription. Money from mine. Money from whatever Wendy's is paying them to whore their burgers. Whatever money they earned from whoring Underarmour (We must protetc this house!). It is their job. They are titled Development for a reason. I also find it interesting how you think it's acceptable to take upto five days to fix a massive error on their part acceptable. And, heaven forbid, they might have to work on a weekend to do so. I hate to use the WoW card here, but... if something isn't right with something they implemented, it's fixed. In hours. Not days, but hours. Usually in under one. Again. Usually under one. (And don't even get me started on the comparisons of their customer service and MxO/SOE's).
I'll save you the trouble and admit, yes, MxO doesn't have the resources that WoW has. See? Easy. You don't need to counter with that.
Live events... ? Are you joking? Link me to the last Machine event on Recursion that was not some Q&A session and not brokered by a Cypherite liasion. We can't even get a liasion, let alone an actual event.
Edit: Meh.
The 'why are you here?' comment wasn't directed at you or anyone for that matter. I was merely saying that if someone didn't like the matrix I find it hard to believe that they would play this game. I wasn't trying to suggest that you don't like the matrix nor was I asking you why you are here. I'm sorry if it came off that way but that wasn't my intention at all.
Now, one major difference between you and me is that I'm an MMO virgin. This is my first and will probably be my only. I have nothing to compare this game's development to so I really don't have anything to say against their timelyness (sp?) of getting fixes done and I'm not aware of WoW's standards. I figured hey, they got it done, didn't they? It took 5 days, but they got it done. But you sort of took away that point anyway because of the resources comment.
You're right, it is their job to develop this game. However, using Rarebit as an example, Rarebit is paid to be a developer and not a one-man LET. However, he is in fact a one-man LET. He also stays up till ungodly hours answering our questions in his thread. Is he paid overtime for staying up on the forums till 3? I don't know for sure, but probably not. For a person who doesn't care about the game, he sure goes above and beyond his call of duty. And I don't think 9mmFu is paid to answer our questions either, but he does that too. At least you know they're listening to us.
Also, your Live event comment? No, I can't point you to a recent Recursion Machine event that wasn't a Q&A session. But what's your point? Live Events were never called "Events that happen live in the game that are not Q&A sessions." You didn't disprove the fact that Live Events happen. Your particular org may have gotten the short end of the stick that month, but you got a Live Event in some shape or form.
Edit: Also, if you feel like comparing MxO's customer service to WoW's, try not to drag the Devs into that. That would be an SOE CSR problem and not an issue we should be taking up here.
Vitamin wrote:Um, spellcheck? "He" and "the" are both words. If you misspell "the" as "he", spellcheck ain't going to do SHIZZAM. English language: It's a biznatch.
But you know what helps? Proofreading. I would certainly hope someone proofreads their work before turning it in. You ever do an important essay where you hit spell check and not proofread? That's bad practice.
As for the 3am thing, if he dedicated that much time to proofreading and doublechecking his work, his part would be near flawless.
Oh and NT, **Welcome to our forums** if you don't like.
I'm now waiting for someone to come up with a valid reply to Vitamin that isn't "**Welcome to our forums** if you dont like /hugsquad"
Alright. You win.

We shouldn't have to complain our asses off to get results. That's just as bad as having a dev team that doesn't care.
Time to use the ol' Pizza Hut analogy. You go into a Pizza Hut and order a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. You get the pizza and lo' and behold, there are no pepperonis.
Good customer service: "I'm terribly sorry sir! We'll make you up another pizza right away."
MxO: "Well... it's a large and you got mushrooms, you should be happy for that." Five days later, you receive a call from Pizza Hut. "Hey, I got your pepperoni now if you want to pick it up."
