I've been using sneak all this time but I haven't a clue how it helps.

Just guessing but id say it reduces the chance of detection.  being quiet as a mouse in sneak.. less chance of getting noticed???

When you shoot an NPC, an NPC nearby will sometimes take notice and shoot at you. When using a silenced weapon, this, and Agent spawns, will happen less often.

This is where the "noise level" comes in.

On the subject of noise levels, could the footstep sound effect be turned up, the only way to hear it is to turn your PC up pretty loud which isn't adviseable when you could be shot at SMILEY   There is nothing so simple that can absorb you into a game than hearing the footsteps as the characters walk.

That would be the most annoying sound ever!

Never ever turn that up!

If your wear headphones, it is pretty easy to hear the footstep sounds, without the loud noises that come with raising the PC's volume.

Thats what I can hear anyway, maybe I just have my headphones on too loud.

I'm pretty sure this is what it's for. Honestly it's rather useless, because in the end you're bound to enter a room with over 9,000 Unlimits and eventually die horribly every time. *CENSORED* those three chev mob missions.
