Hey everyone. It's been a long time since I've put "fingers to keyboard" to talk to The Matrix Online community-not that Raijinn hasn't been bugging me about that. I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that I've been neck-deep in The Agency since I started working on it in April-there's a lot to be done. And since the guys on MxO are pros at keeping the game going, I don't feel the need to constantly oversee what they're doing. However, I'm way overdue for sending out an update from my perspective.

The Agency? what is the agency? I have a faction called that on recursion^^ It's "Machines" hehe I thought that was funny. Anyways can't wait to see the new updates^^ looking forward to it!

I'll do my best. It's hard to stay on top of things when I'm up to my ears in The Agency and I know you're in good hands with Rarebit.

Its a first-person MMO, with some quirks, on the flash pop-up theres a few 'hidden' links, one which gives you an email address which you can contact regarding the game, hopefully its a beta-sign-up 'cause they got my interest.

However it sounds like it is similar to GuildWars,  for the fact that it isn't one huge seemless environment, instead you have public areas, which branch off into private areas to complete assignments.

However thats all based on what I have heard, read, hopefully we get to see more early in 2008.

Agency is a FPS/3rd person  online MMORPG. The screenings at Fanfaire where awesome..and there are some lying around on You tube I believe.

Graphic Issues

We've done as much as we can internally to deal with the various compatibility issues the community has been discussing on the forums. At this point, we're going to see if we can get some direct assistance from our contacts at Microsoft and nVidia to analyze the issues. Hopefully we can find something we have the capability to fix that will alleviate the different problems. It would be even better if we found that Microsoft and/or nVidia had something in the works that take care of the problems, but we'll just have to see.

We know more and more players will likely run into similar issues as time goes on, so it's important for us to do everything we can to take care of them. You'll know more when we do. Thanks for everyone's help tracking them down

Does that mean a fix for the indoor lag with xp?
That's one of the problems we need help with, yes. That along with Vista compatibility problems and the general unhappiness that occurs on 8000-series nVidia cards.

I believe the comment was more related to the layout of the areas rather than anything else. There are some similarities, but not to the degree that GuildWars does things. There will be combat and other activities going on in public spaces but, yes, there will be a good number of instanced areas where you and your crew will do their business.

And, at least for now, it's a 1st/3rd person game. We're going with "online persistent shooter", since it's more of a shared world than a true MMORPG experience. The chances of ever seeing 50 to 100 players in the same area will be slim.

That enough tidbits? SMILEY
