Hello all,

So I'm only level 6, leveling slowly but surely, but I've already come to the point where I have to make a choice of whether I'm going to go MA or Gunman, and I simply dont know what to do. I've been trying to fight the Bell Gang, which is conning yellow, and i get my butt handed to me in ranged combat. I'll hit them once or twice, MAYBE, while their shots are consistent. If I interlock, I may have more luck, but they still win during attack rolls more often than I do.

My current ability allocation is:

Awakened

Consistent TEchnique

Detect Vulnerability

Hypersprint

Cheap Shot

Head Butt

Operative

Combat Insight

Hindering Shot

Intensify Damage

Compel Close Combat

Soldier

Combat Toughness

Martial Arts Prowess

Firearms SKill

Sharpshooter

Body Shot

Overhead Smash

I have both Fire Arms Expertise, as well as Martial Arts Expertise, but I just can't decide which road(s) to follow. I wanna be able to hold my own in the game, you know?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated

Reconfigure~

The early levels are just really hard, whether you are a gunman or MA. Get your hands on some tactic boosters, they will assist on crushing some skulls. Boosters add points to Combat Tactics; raise the outcome of your rolls. Somewhere around level 25, or sooner maybe, I just felt like the game became easier around level 25, it gets easier and it doesn't matter what Soldier tree you're using.
There's only one small problem when you're a gunman and that's getting disarmed, you'll have to fight with your fists and feet. The outcome of your rolls rely on the use of guns so getting disarmed results in a serious downgrade of tactics.

You can always get more abilities and switch them on the fly so you'll never have to stick with 1 ability tree.

since you are at a lower level you dont have to worry about disarming shot (i think), but tatic boosters and Health boosters always help in combat. also a key thing to keep is Silver bullets and Stakes, they will come in handy agains lupians (Silver Bullets) and Succubi (stakes).

both trees have there advantages, if you want you can go down both trees it will just cost u a little more.

There's a chance you get disarmed inside interlock by the grab move (green). I got disarmed by the speed (blue) move several times, which I believe shouldn't be possible. So there's a high chance of getting disarmed. It happens to me quite often anyway.

Stakes are for the Blooddrinkers (Vampires, makes sence eh?). Holy water is for the Succubi or Nightmares, don't know for sure. :smileyhappy:

Personally, I like playing with the Gunmen tree.  Particularly Duelist.  Because you can fight in Interlock just as effectively as out of Interlock, whereas SMGs and Rifles are more designed for out of interlock.  They can function inside of it, but their best moves are done outside of combat(particularly true for Rifles).

RCT is far easier to stack than MCT.  I have a level 23 alt on Syntax who has 21 RCT points, compared to 9 MCT.  That particular character is going down the Rifles/Sniper tree as it's primary.

i would aggree i like the gunman tree better, i tryed sniper ( im lvl 21) and didnt like it very much, im shure its more effective later, but i like Dual SMGs and Dual Hand Guns better.

I think Gunman, especially Duelist is most efficient for killing for the same reasons as Musutangu listed.

But I like MA like karate master for looks and Rifleman because I love the sound of a shot gun's big BOOM:smileysurprised:

Geeze i really need a sigSMILEY a shiny 5 stars for Mustangu for his sig

Currently levelling a char on recursion. Go gunman and only interlock when you have to - then in emergencies you can always hit them from the mission door.

Clothes are important - make sure you have industrial set- they will help - then as you level try and get the +5 Mct +10 DR pants as they will make life easier.

I want to go assassin/MKT eventually so im a level 13 gunslinger for now then at around 15 or 17 depending on which tree you're on things get a hell of a lot easier because you get another ability whichs boosts your trees vital stats (in my case sneak attack CT). From then on its a lot easier to mission but be sure to visit constructs and dungeons to keep your clothes up to date. Place attributes according to an end plan of what you want to do. It will help you alot.

If you ever got a question I'll be happy to help as best I can.  - ill be playing ech0snare on recursion mostly. Echosnare(50) on vector from time to time
