Zion and EPN have already lost, they lost when the machines signed the surrender papers at the UN at the end of the first man/machine war. Face it, the human race are no longer the dominant species on this planet. If you think you'll become the dominant species again, then I have a bridge in former Brooklyn to sell you. The machines have tried the peaceful co-existent route, and I think we all know how well that ended. Let's be honest with ourselves, Zion has been destroyed five times in the past. Now the sixth time is inevitable. Humans will never be the dominant species on the planet again, and they'll never control or bring down the simulation. The day the Kiddies and Zionist can realize that is the day that we may actually make some progress.

I, would gladly live in a time of peace, were neither humans nor machines had to fear attacks from the other, were humankind and machine kind worked together to try to make the future a better place to live in. But, as I have already stated, this will never happen unless the machines make steps for peace. And if there is one thing we can see from the machines dissolution of the truce, it’s that they hunger for war, not peace.
Did you catch the implication of that statement Meta old boy? If not, then let me clarify: I don't give a shite about humans becoming the dominant race on the planet. There are so few of us out here (or perhaps "down here" would be more appropriate?) that it would take many centuries for there even to be enough of us to populate a sizable chunk of earth. The best way for mankind to make the earth a bit more habitable again, would probably be to work with the machines. But that’s not going to happen, because as you said, we do know how well the machines attempt at what you call "the peaceful co-existent route" went. They dissolved the truce that gave us some small semblance of peace at the first opportunity, and instead immediately went to war when a good opportunity presented itself.
As you can see then, according to you we're ready to "actually make some progress." Perhaps you could get ready as well, and not just spew out a load of hypocritical rubbish, and instead let well formed out and reasonable arguments come from your head. We'd all appreciate the change. Really.

What data lines? Do you mean the ones that bring the Matrix feed to the blues? If you do, that's an entirely irrelevant point because they would be housed internally seeing as they are part of the plant itself.
The Matrix itself is part of the power plant, the power generating facility. The generated output would then run from the plant to 01 itself. The only thing that gets disrupted is the output, not the input. The blues can't be harmed from shutting down output lines. It would have to be an attack on the plant itself, disrupting the feed from the Matrix to the blues to actually harm the blues.
Nice! I had no idea that Archangel had a degree in Matrix power-line engineering. We're all winners!!

I'm just using a real world example. A power plant generates the power. Even if the lines are not there, the plant will still be generating said power.
Look at it this way
Power Plant:
Matrix Server generates the reality in which the blues live, it would be connected to the pods, the blues in turn generate energy which is then channelled from the pods via power lines to other Machine locations (01, etc.)
Even with all this speculation on the nature of the power lines and how data is stored and transferred, the truth is that none of us really know. Remember that whenever any redpill assures us that their particular view of Matrix mechanics is the right one.
