This never happened before until recently on my laptop. First screenshot takes 20 seconds about, and then usually screenshots after that take all but a second, but now it's almost every shot takes 10-15 seconds each screenshot, and no idea why.

Any help?

What is the Video Card, Processor, and RAM specs on that laptop? And also what brand? Might shed a bit of light...

I forgot, in addition to those above, what resolution are you running the game at, with how much detail setting (Low/Medium/High), and same for RAM usage?

Check to see how many screen shots you have in your game folder, it has to look through to find out what number is next.  I found archiving my screenshots outside of the game folder every week helped big time.

Yeah, it's nothing at all to do with graphics card, RAM, etc.
Maybe the processor but only in small part.

It seems that whenever you take a screenshot, it counts through to find out what the last number was in order to add the next one.
The more screenshots you have, the longer it takes. Rustern had 1000 screenshots in beta and when he tried taking another one, his entire PC crashed.

Just archive them out once very so often and it'll be smooth as silk.

I agree with the advice above.
A couple more things to check also:
How much free space do you have on your harddrive?
.BMP screen shots take much longer to save than .JPG ones due to the increased file size (about 5 to 6 times larger, depending on your screen resolution)

Archiving the screenshots and starting with nothing in the MxO folder worked. SMILEY

When you take a screenshot in-game, the game has to search your MxO directory for your previous shots, so it knows what number youa re on, and what number to save the new one as. As your screenshots grow in number, it takes longer to search through each one to find the last sequential numer. This is wha casuses that delay. You may want to ocassionally move the screenshots to another folder, especially ifyou take a lot of them.
