Hm, I decided this in my head a good thirty minutes ago

"Complaining on the forums will not notify SOE of their neglect, why don't I just send them an email, which will most likely be swiftly discarded, but at least it will feel as if I made some form of a difference."

Lo and behold, there is absolutely noone to send the aformentioned email to, it is like a brick wall except worse. All I could find was the press publicist who is also that of The Agency, but I figured she really doesn't even know that MXO exists if this is the ehh publicity we have been getting.

So I Imagine we are just left waiting until we get any form of response. Joy.

Yeah.  I imagine SOE meetings go something like a meeting I had at a couple of years ago at my last job.  I'll never forget it, because it was incomprehensible to me.

(lightly paraphrased to protect the poor useless product and the moron upper management with shady business practices)
Boss:  "So we need to talk about [product] support."
Me:  "Wait, you mean people still pay for [product]?"
Boss:  "Well, yeah.  I mean, it's one-of-a-kind.  It's the only product that does what it does, so there's a niche market."
Me:  "But it's antiquated technology!  No one even uses pagers any more, do they?"
Boss:  "We want to get rid of it, but it brings in money, and it's still profitable as long as we don't spend any time on it.  We need to essentially stop supporting it in the hopes that people will stop using it.  However, we don't want to actively drop it since people are still willing to pay for it.  Some people are paying for it and aren't even using the product any more, and it could be a problem for us if they realize that they still pay us every month for something they're not using."
Me:  "Well, I'm supposed to be the top tier support for it, and I didn't even know it was still in use, so I'd say we have that one nailed down.  Still, that seems... off."
Boss:  "Yeah, you're right.  Still, don't spend any man hours working on it if anything comes up.  If the server happens to die, we'll at least be done with it."

I'd say that accurately describes our current situation, mm?

Accurately enough to make me think you made up the dialogue just for MxO.

Eh I know the topic is quite redundant but its quite better then SOE Y U NO DEV 4 US?

Regardless that dialogue is on par with the current situation. To be frank I am being gracious and giving SOE six months to either establish a developer or cut the game before I leave. If by six months there is silence I will taking my funds elsewhere.

I know, it's ridiculous.  This occurred in a major corporation, too...  Well, it's a well-known corporation at least.  I guess it's a "major" corporation in its line of business.  Anyway, my point is that major companies truly don't give a smash about their customers if the company has decided to stop supporting something, they'll just turn a blind eye until it all goes away.

No hardcore MXOer should ever make such a statement .  What this game is missing now is Recursion RP.  I visit Syn and Vec and they seem to be having their fun given the circumstances.  What's up Recursion?!?!

First and foremost, I am a devoted MXO Player, its simply the fact that I cannot afford to pay 15 dollars a month for lack of content. I am not rich, if they lowered it to five dollars, that would be fine, but they show no intent on doing so.

Secondly, the community is important to me, Recursion RP is not dead its just scattered, the Barnsley RP is quite fun, and each RP Faction I assume has a lot of internal RP going on. But there are no more large scale public Rp (Although I do try to involve as many people as possible in mine to hopefully help and make up for lacktherof of LET)

Believe me, I am the last person to want to leave, I love this game, I adore the community, its just the aformentioned issues I will have if there is no change.

To be honest, I hate all of the Other MMO's out there, I am not an elfy, galactic space type person, I prefer MXO because of the grittiness, I am not interested in COH or COV because I'm not interested in superhero/villain cliche, I stay with MXO because of the atmosphere, the RP, the Community, and I really will need some form of developers to be the foundation for me staying.

There is only so much we RPers can do. We have no story tools, we barely have any tools. And it will be a matter of time before the tools we do have run thin and our ideas begin to lessen. We need some form of content, that is all I am saying and we need someone to give it to us.

Tranque, Sieges, Neoteny, Fenshire, RedBindi, Psion, MetaLogic and Illyria; eight of the most eloquent Role Play characters on the Recursion instance walk into a bar and... I've forgotten the rest but I think it ended with an RP Event, or something.

Operative, you have come a long way from those days back in DM when I was taking a break and building an alt on Recursion myself.  You have crystalized my thoughts eloquently.
