I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I'm VERY tempted in
getting SWG as well as MxO (something to do in quiet times between MxO
events.)
However, I'd like to know what's the space fighting like? Can you
travel around in ships with friends? Can newbies get into space battles
rather quick? (or do you have to save up to buy a ship or something?)
I'm not going to play it just for space battles, but it sounds like a
very nice extra on the side as playing an RPG character on the planets.

I hope their is Co-op space dogfights like when Luke helped Han Solo on The Millenium Falcon blast the sh*t out of those Empire d*ck heads! lol
Yeah I am a Star Wars nerd! But I am not geeky, I have a big brain but I keep it fresh! (LOL, make me sound more geeky)
Anyways, I want to know servers people, what servers do you play on. Also hook up more people that you may know of that play SWG with this thread. Message Edited by Woreku on 08-16-2005 12:07 AM

ya space combat is badass if u have a master ship flyer guy that has a huge transport ship cuz u can get like 3 people on the turrets on the sides and top the u have a driver and the rest of the crew can head down to the crew quarters or bar or look out the windows

If you guys get on, I can probably get us all back into my old guild
easily. Just got to call up my formor guild leader on the phone and get
us access. we have loads of armor and weapon stored away. i use to be a
formor co-leader in it and use to be mayor for the city but we let the
city die.

All sounds interesting. I don't know if I'd join a guild in it right
away, might try to learn the game and experience it a bit solo before I
begin to join any guilds. I'd love to join the server you guys are in
though so at least there'll be a few MxO faces running about.
I'm still interested in the space battle side of it. Mainly as to how long it takes before you're able to pilot a ship?
Say I started a rebel character, would it take long before I can fly
the X-Wings/A-wings etc? Or if I start an Imperial pilot, would it take
long before I can fly TIE's? Would be great if someone could give a
rough estimate as to how long it'd take for a new player to get into
the flying.
Starting to really look forward to it...

As an imperial player in SWG.. you can fly in a basic TIE right away, as soon as you visit the imperial space guy you get directions to when you start. From there it is a bit, then you can fly the Interceptor.. then the advanced.. and finally.. the mighty decimator.. which is an awesome multiplayer spacecraft..
I think the beginning Reb ship is a Z-95 headhunter, and it is just a little bit before you can get into your Xwing
There is just NOTHING like sitting in a turret while your friend drives blasting X-Wings out of the air...

Ah good to hear you can fly right away...
I'm guessing from what was already said, that to get to fly a
falcon-type transport ship you have to advance down a ship flying
ability tree or something? Is it a long time before you can fly the
falcon sized ships?
Thanks for the info.
