The Test server is online and working- even during the maintenance tonight. You may want to try typing your password into Notepad to verify it is correct, then highlight-it and click "Copy". When you log into MxO, type your name and press Enter (or Tab, whatever you prefer) and then ctrl+v to paste the password.

Go into the directory where the test server is (somewhere in c:\program files\monolith productions\) and then look for the file called useropts.cfg, open the file and make sure that these three lines exist exactly as posted below:

AuthServerDNSName = "testlogin.thematrixonline.com"
PatchServerDNSName = "testpatch.thematrixonline.com"
PatchNotesURL = "http://thematrixonline.station.sony.com/patch_notes/test.vm"

Even after contacting customer support, I'm still unable to log onto the test server. In fact, the reply I got was that they dont handle issues like that.

I, too, am having this problem. I have brought it up with a test server admin as well as in this forum. I was met with just as much silence and "make sure your cfg is right". Hopefully they will deem this problem worth a reply. After all it is pretty insulting to pay for this product and want to better it by testing...yet we cannot due to some error.

Make sure that any firewall you are using is set to allow the new copy of launcher to access the internet on all ports.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I've checked that as well. It's definitely seeming to be a serverside problem, not clientside.

I can guarentee you that it is not an error on my side. I am DMZ on my router, Windows XP firewall has been disabled, I use PC-Cillin as a virus checker which does not use a firewall. I do not have any other firewall programs on my computer.

I can login as usual on the normal servers. Yes, I am sure it is the correct password. I have also been given two different .cfg inputs and neither have worked. I've run a full patch check and was cleared. I have uninstalled the .zip version given on Data Node One and installed the "copy and paste" version.

I am also a beta player, and I have used the test server from back in that day. Which means I do have some degree of knowledge concerning this game and its interface.

I cannot, however, log in to just the External Playtest server. With any combination of beta logins, post-beta logins, or my existing station account. I can, however, access the live server with my existing station account. Which would lead me to believe, after an excess of 10+ years of gaming experience, the problem is a client-side problem.

I should also mention I've tested countless games and have have had no problem logging in to Guild Wars, City of Heroes, City of Villains, and others that would fail if the problem was an anti-viral interferance or a network error.

Again, I am having the SAME issues...I can play the live server, I can /copychar, I cannot log onto the test server with the same name and password that I use for the live game.

Ok, as a random suggestion load a command prompt up (start->run->type cmd) and type the following and post the results:

ping test.thematrixonline.com
ping testlogin.thematrixonline.com
ping testpatch.thematrixonline.com
