This week's crits all left it wayyy open to continuing the story. Of course Rarebit had to do that in the week that we won't be getting a story continuation for a long time...

I'm going to be on vacation from the 15th through the 1st, so no need for me to try to bridge a big gap of time with filler events. =D Hm just the 2nd through the 10th, I guess.
So..my 0.02 info now while the board is fresh.....Theory: the Intuder was a human from before the final end of the war....before the matrix....he might have even helped the Mechs create the original......idea?.....QA server?...beta test....of the Matrix? His Ego and attitude is 100% American made pre 1999 'Holier than Thou' Human. How he jacks in....i'll leave that up to you young minds to figure out....maybe he's pure energy...the next feasible stage of Evolution of man and machine?ok.. i'll stop now...
So the Merv's people are trying to meet with the Intruder any chance they get I guess Flood sends us to check up on the latest one, but the Exiles are all accelerated and crazed and had to be killed! Not sure why the Intruder did that, but I guess they made him mad The Intruder is going to meet with the Merv himself next, but Flood doesn't think I can handle it, so I see Malphas and pick up some other people to go along! My people were named Kat and Elly Elly hated Kat because he talked about himself so much which was hilarious The meeting didn't go too well, the Intruder said he knows the human in the Real that the Merovingian was based on! That they look the same! I wonder what he meant by "this isn't the scheme that was supposed to go down?" O_O He also suggested he might have some use for the Merv soon.. and all this made the Merv super mad! After the meeting he was raving about how he's going to find the Intruder's "secret" Oh and back at the meeting one of the Exiles had a crazy idea that the Intruder was all set up by the Machines so us and Zion would tell him things that we'd never tell the Machines
I never thought the Merv was based on a real person :O We are learning a lot about the Matrix from this intruder guy!

I'm wondering now who's really been reading my stories....))

No But, having read Holy Blood Holy Grail (what DaVinci Code was based on), I think the W Bros were poking fun at that theory. Lambert Wilson says in the Ultimate Matrix extras somewhere that he took the character to represent someone whose "divine" lineage merely led to arrogance and boredom.
The "Priory of Sion" was made up by Pierre Plantard, who was a French crackpot (and a pro-fascist Monarchist) who forged a bunch of documents in the attempt to link himself to the original Merovingian kings. The authors of Holy Blood Holy Grail not only presented his forgeries as truth but went way beyond that and tried to link the Merovingian kings to Jesus' bloodline (Pierre Plantard had nothing to do with this). Then Dan Brown popularized the HBHG "theory" and made it into a fun book.

Mmm, I've read both and while I'm infuriated with the HBHG wonks for presenting flat lies as truth and with Dan Brown for popularizing it to the point that the average uncritical reader doesn't know what's what, I found it interesting enough to incorporate a few of the notions into my own RP, since my main has developed a somewhat Quixotic would-be Merv paladin with a lot of chivalrous notions about her employer's domain. I'm curious as to where this leads and how close her ideals might be to the truth about her world...
