Why would they get the shock of a lifetime?
I agree with pretty much everything you've said.
From what I've heard, Vanguard is actually the next one on the chopping block. I have no idea why SOE continues to keep Planetside around, but whatever. And SOE will definitely get a shock with the Agency, and I look forward to it as well.

Walrus, thanks for the straight talk. I know it is sincere and genuine. This isn't the first community I've been a part of where the product was cancelled. It's hard on the users who put in so much time, and the developers who put their blood, sweat, and tears into the product. I haven't played in a while, but it's still sad to hear things are shutting down.
I've been debating whether I want to log in for the finale, or just keep the fond memories from the end of beta and afterwards. Apparently, I no longer have the option to resub. I'm ok with that, but it would be SWEET if you gave past subscribers free access for that last few days. Imagine the insanity!
As far as the state of the franchise, that sits squarely on the shoulders of the Wachowski's. As for myself, I will continue to enjoy the movies from time to time. Thanks for everything.

From what I heard at least 1 big lawsuit is in preparation for when the agency comes online for copyright infringement. And on another note... FPS with some add-ons... com'on, at least they won't have lag . It's clear to me... but apparently SOE must have some very "smart" marketing people .... I'm willing predict the future... they will do a closed beta, eventually see that it fails to "click" with people... nerve the whole thing, and cancel it within maximum 1 year (maximum peak population between 10.000 and 20.000 right after beta). And probably after that , they can all of their remaining MMO's.
Well, SOE has really been known recently for being the bargain bin of MMO's. There really isn't a high-quality one in the lineup, and for them, with Free Realms just out, and the Agency and DCUO coming out in the near future, it's not surprising to me if they finally decide to off a sizeable chunk of their MMO's. I'll be interested to see if any of the three do well; FR has a lot of registered players but that is a lot different than having paying people that consistently spend more money.
Clearly the wave of the future in MMO's is trading card games. Lol.
Of course there would be a forum error.
The first Matrix film grossed over $460 million dollars. You have, quite literally, killed the franchise. That's quite an achievement. Congratulations. I won't be around to see how you handle your future projects, so good luck I guess. If you couldn't see ways to help improve this game, then I'm sorry, you weren't fit to be a producer. Maybe some advertising? Maybe actually poking your head in here more than once a year? In my opinion, you sold us out for bluer pastures (lulz get it?). You helped make the awesome game that the Matrix Online was, and then it's like you ditched us without a second thought and have focused everything on the Agency.Sorry if I'm being harsh, but I loved this game and this franchise, and it infuriates me to see what SOE has done (or rather, HASN'T done) to it.

Exactly. There is no glass-half-full, there is no humor, and there is no way for you to justify anything. You should feel terrible for letting not just those of us still here, but everyone who has since quit because "MxO [was] dead" down.
And off-topic but I remember again which game I was thinking of when I read the descriptions of the agency... "Tabula Rasa. Everyone wants to play such a thing, it's a no-brainer".... FPS... guns, snipers, heavy artillery, support toons... vehicles... good AI, vast spaces, smart missions, crafting, ... and TR did have a very responsive development team, but look where it got them.

Why Walrus? why is the option not possible to stay one server open ????
Do you have no money for a server ? No Problem, i can provide you a server for hosting mxo...so where is the problem? Why it is not possible to change the Game to Free2Play Item Mall Subscription , that would at least make more money than other things?
It is what i said a half year ago...SOE only bought the license to build up there DC Comic game. Yes Walrus..you had make many more with MxO , starting with new fresh content (new level ranges, Destricts etc.) ..and not with CR2.0 .
You must said and know : after CR2 came, the most people left the Game. You had make a lot more than that.SOE wont see that changes that is disadvantage for the players, are not good for the community. EVERY Gaming Company know that, but SOE doesnt learn this from SWG and not from MxO.
And yes, this was my last SOE Game , be sure!
And Walrus, yes you can do one thing at least: try to sell MxO to an another company that will hold on the services.

That won't happen because SOE won't let the codes go, and they have to get the license from WBIE, and I doubt WBIE will give it up without a soul and virgin blood.
HEy see ya there bud how are things going
It's all about the memories. Speaking of...just because I'm obviously not afraid of embarrassing myself for the community's amusement, here's a shot from PAX '04...of my best side. Scroll down to "A Call for Enforcers"
