Come on PBlade, open your eyes to the all conquering truth here! The game has clearly been destroyed by blatant favouritism. I mean, it's not the lack of funding, the small dev team, lack of promotion, lack of exposure, the misplaced expectations, the crappy servers or the fading spotlight on an old franchise thats caused the issues down the years. Of course not, it's the sheer narrowminded favourtism shown by the devs to a small group of players that can do what they want, when they want. Because really, the devs are more than happy to urinate away SOE's money while pleasing 12-15 people out of however many thousands of subscribed players there is(was).

Duh.

THIS.

It is easy to be blinded by Science and Technology!

I agree with Yasa, I blame SOE because they just wanted the DC comics rights and cared very little if at all for MxO.

We also have to shift some blame on Warner Brothers. We know they troll the forums and have made it difficult for things related to The Matrix Online to be approved. They still OWN the rights and if they pushed SOE to do something, SOMETHING would be done.

Well, I guess it did not help that the coding language for the game was also diffacult for anyone to just dive in and change things in the mainframe without screwing something up. So yes, some blame shall go towards WB.

Trying to mock doesn't undo the truth Yasa ......show me what other major succesful mmo in which regular players are given moderator positions, special live event characters and in game items that are not available to anyone else....

None, and you know why?because it is a recipe for disaster..I agree that there were many other factors in mxo that have been negative, but this was a leading contributor.

I could post links to vent recordings and screenshots, but that would just get me a forum ban so I'll rely here on the fact that the smart people know what bs has gone on.

Sorry, I found it hard not to mock.

You have to look to the reasons why players have become mods and why LESIG exists. Why? Lack of funding. There is not the budget there to recruit moderators or a Live Event team, so rightly or wrongly, this is what has happend to our game. All successful MMO's on the market have the exact things I listed that this game does not and this is where the problem lies, and the things you are flagging up are an by-product of the issues that I named.

I would encourage you to post the vent recordings and screenshots, I mean, as far as everyone seems to say around here 'The game is on it's death bed' so, why bother hiding this truth? If there's funky goings on, you might as well get it out in the open, right?

Can't argue with your point in that post at all.....but no to posting because death bed or not...those kinds of posts get deleted fast enough that most don't see them....and with the station pass, dev or not,mxo will be around as part of the package for a long time.

Or you could load them on a site and send us some links. I'd love to hear my own voice view them.

I would also really like to get those links, even if they're just in a PM.

Could I have a PM with the links too? Might as well see what all the fuss is about.

I'll agree with Yasa, the main reason we went down a sliding slope was more to do with how the game was being treated/looked at by SOE and the other factors all came into it because of that. I wish someone with authority at WB would have pushed more, but I guess after the game was no where near as big as they thought it would be, they washed their hands dry.

As for this info you have, I'll take any links if that's being made avaliable.

As for "Omega"--the name reflects the end of Rarebit's stint with MxO. The game keeps running as always--just without the 6-week updates. Celebration of year 4 is about one month away and we'll be running events just as we did last year. We'll have more details in the coming weeks.

Honestly, I wouldn't care if the name was simply "Omega." But invocation of the name "The Omega" implies a certain specificness that I don't need to point out, regardless of what Rarebit MEANT, just as I never MEANT that I was God by using the name Yahweh, it was MEANT as a reflection of something that held meaning as a bluepill.

So, while I appreciate you taking the time to address the concern, it doesn't smooth over the situation, and I doubt anything will.

My stint with this game will end on March 4. I hope everyone has fun with what time they have left here.
