Okay, are you jumping the gun abit?  I know that when I've re-installed this game, it takes a little bit of time for the server and client to sync up to detect all the updates that have been made since Go Live.

It is up as far as I know. Do you still have connection issues now?

After leaving the game just before Sony took over, I've come back, but installing from the CDs, I'm getting the same error. And after reinstalling twice, it's still there. Suggesstions?

What antivirus program do you use? Norton and McAfee typically come with a personal firewall. If you use another firewall (such as Zone Alarm or the Windows firewall) then you need to open that program. Use the configuration options in your firewall to allow FULL access to Launcher.exe and Matrix.exe (both located in C:\Program Files\Monolith Productions\The Matrix Online\ by default). You should then try the connection again.

I use Windows Firewall, so I tried your suggestion. After making exceptions for both files, and then turning the firewall off entirely when that didn't work, I still get the same error. Other MMORPGs are able to connect to and download patches from their respective clients, so I'm confused as to what the problem could be.
