Thats the first time they had heard of it.

Also, and I could be wrong, but the gi w/pants pictures were never given as a definite change. People had been commenting on how.. inappropriate the gis were particularly in combat and the pants included images were proposed as what the alternate look would look like. It was never given as a "this is what's going to happen unless you speak up and speak up loudly right now."
Hooray!! This makes me happy ^_^ I like the colors, and it'll be awesome if those glasses will be a new item as wellD
The reason I didn't make a big deal about the pantsed gi until after it went live is cause I was under the impression that both would be available and that it wasn't just going to put pants on all of the existing models.
*crosses fingers for white boots XD*
Well, everyone I talked to about the pants being added to the Gi's was that we figured the Gis we had already would remain pantless and the new ones that you get from looting, collectors, etc. would have the pantlegs, sorta like how the buffs on the widow's dress and puglist gloves changed for the new ones but not for the ones you got before the nerf.
Thats why I (and I think many others) didn't say anything when the screenshots of the Gi's with pantlegs were showing up. Then when I got in game after the patch and saw that the Gi's in my inventory had pant legs, I was like - &@#$
Wha? You mean you forum regulars don't go telling all your fellow operatives the strange and outrageous things you see on the forum?
Lol, not enough time...not enough time!
Good job Rarebit!
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, apparantly...

No, no, I definitely remeber a thread in which Gerik posted something to the likes of, "The women gi's look skanky," and Rarebit said something to the like of, "You're probably going to like what's in the new patch." Usually when a dev says, "It will probably happen," it does.
But you're still right. All in all, it's already over with. No point in complaining about it now, just a slight bit aggravated.

Er, when did I do that?
Actually, if your talking about the Dev screenshot thread and the start of the change, I believe it was Roukan who said he didn't find them appealing and Rarebit agreed stating 'It is kind of silly looking to be running around a dojo with no pants on'. At the moment I can't find any thread with reference to Gerik stating that they looked skanky.
However, I do remember Rare immediatly made a signature and possibly an Avatar from the mock up. Noone seemed to comment on it outside the Dev screenshot thread though.
Still Ballak's right, modified Gi's are here to stay and anyone who wants the other kind (Othinn said he wanted a version to remain as a nod to Jue in FFotO) can get them during the winter holiday.
