Since everyone is chiming in with ideas, I've got one that I've been stewing over for quite some time.
So on vector, you run missions and no one outside the mission team can interfere (for the most part), they can't enter the mission area's or attack mission npc's. But what if there was a "/flag mission pvp" command that would allow players outside of the mish team to become involved.
Bare with me, missions for the most part are considered what you do for sk$nfo and XP and have become so transparently a means to an end, that everyone p1sses and moans about how boring they are, now the point of mishing, is of course to reach lvl 50, the point of reaching 50 is to pvp, (i play on vector, so i dont know about the other servers), now most pvp, except for live events, has no context placed upon it, of course most people dont need a context to fight, they just do it, the main problem with this, I feel, is that there is no measured winner or loser, mostly due to the fact that there is no real punitive consequence for death (looting a little $nfo, being able to choose 1 or 2 items for there inventory, at least let us have the appropriate xp) and partly due to the fact that there is no objective to the fighting other then to #1 not die & #2 KILL!.
Now Imagine that you have to mish, you need $nfo, consumables, xp, whatever, but you WANT to pvp.
What if there was a command like "/mission pvp" that would allow outside players, both friendly (to help out without having to commit to the entire mission) and hostile to enter your mission area and effect mission npc's, of course this would be a something your could turn on or off, but once turned on couldnt be turned off til the mission is ended or aborted.
And then there could also be a modified version of the "/who" command that could tell you who had there mission pvp flags on, it wouldnt tell you where they were of course, just that there were players looking for a little pvp excitement in there daily mish.
Of course there would be xome balance issues to get worked out and "intereferring" players should'nt recieve any xp for the mishn at all. This probably doesnt apply to the non hostile servers, but as someone approaching 50, I find myself loathing the grind and wishing that I could add something to make it more spontaneous and dynamic,
sorry this is so long
Peace outside
