how do u add names to ur online/buddy list?

i want to add main characters...so when theyr online i kno something is going on...

Two ways...one is to right click their name in area chat and click on Online, the other is to type /friend and then their name after it..Eg. /friend Dulux

Although i don't think story characters actually appear online in your buddy list, not that i've experienced anyways.

Story characters have hidden characters in their names to prevent being added to your friend list.

Last I checked you could log the area chat when an event character was around (alt-L ?) and the actual name showed up in the log. Of course you need to find the event character first in order to log their chat.

You can add them by the following syntax. However, they do not appear as online on your buddy lists (I wish they did). Sending tells to a live event character usually means that character will put you on ignore. So, basically, you gotta either have good friends who inform you about events, be skilled at finding them yourself via yellow hardlines / buddy lists of org populations / ./who, or hope your liaison likes you.

Nomenclature:
/friend "Merovingian"
/friend "Merovingian "
/friend "Merovingian "
/friend "Merovingian "
/friend {1}Merovingian
/friend {2}Merovingian
/friend {3}Merovingian
/friend {4}Merovingian

For spaces:

Yup.

Personally, I just use /ca because it's a lot shorter than having to write our /friend over and over again. SMILEY
