Mouse-over descriptions not working?

I recently installed the game and the mouse-over descriptions aren't working at the moment. before I uninstalled the game they worked perfectly. I installed through the software I bought on launch in 05, not sure if that's the problem or not. Full sys check didn't fix anything.

Also the music has seemed to want to leave. It no longer works either.

recent patch problem, or is it just me?

Did you check your Options settings? There's a checkbox to disable pop-up descriptions in the Advanced Graphics window, I think, and of course there are Audio options to turn down or turn off the music.

There is an option in the "Advanced Mode" of the graphics screen, i believe its "UI Tips" Make sure its ticked.

Yeah, I found the mouse over stuff. Turning off UI Tips also turns those off as well. that's fixed.

Background Music though is still off. I have all options turned up to their maximum, and all options turned on. nada.

Audio options:
In Game music - On
Best 3D Sound Quality - On
High Quality Audio - On
EAX Sounds - Off by default, but turned On
Chat Sounds - On
In Game Music Volume - All the way up
Master Volume - All the way up.

I can get Sound FX and things, just not the background music.

er.. i think i had that Problem on my old Computer my install of MxO would not play the themed music (the one that changes in IL or different districts .. i upgraded my CPU after, never really figured out why it happened. Try updating all ur drivers something might be clashing with it

Dumb question but have do you have background music when EAX is unchecked?

The audio system might not be initalising properly.

Try using the /radio stop command in your chat window.
