How are Bonuses applied?

Now this has been confusing me for a long time and I don't think I've seen any definitive answer to it so far (I could be wrong in which case point me in the right direction).

So, I loaded up Kungfu Grandmaster and Karate Gradmaster today, no particular reason, I was just playing about with different trees since it's been a week or two since I've had chance to play and ran arround a bit doing various things then looked in the bonuses panel (didn't go through every single one) but under Melee damage bonus, there were upgrades from both the Karate and Kungfu trees.

So, anyone know if thats intended, or if it's a bug or am I just so confused about all the bonuses and stuff that I'm completely missing the point?

If the bonus is a % then buffs are affected.
 
For example in the screen shot you gave if you applied a buff to yourself that had a base damage value of say 100. then the % modifies this value and the mouse over on your buff icon on your screen would reflect teh % increase. Using your screen shot as an example again.
 
If the base value for the buff was Melee Damage 100pts. When you apply it to yourself it would be 154pts because you have a +54% Melee Damage bonus.
 
I hope that clarifies it for you.
 
In general the CR 2.0 system works in this manner.

So both Kungfu and Karate adding to the % value is working as intended then?

And the buff percentage is a bit cleared for me now, thanks.

The fact that Aikido Prowess, Karate Expertise, and Kung Fu Proficiency stat is by design. The bonuses from these abilities are considered passive (Does not require activation).

You will find however abilities that require activation will not stack.

But NoRepro there is a bug with this also, I reported it but it didn't seem to get much attention.

Say I load up HyperDeflect which grants viral defense. Now say I load some abilities up to resist viruses. This gives me some bonus % onto viral denfense.

Therefore when I activate HyperDeflect I get 70pts of viral defense from it. Now I turn off all these hacker abilities that boost the defense %. HyperDeflect still blocks 70pts regardless that I just disabled these abilites to boost my viral defense! When I turn off HyperDeflect and turn it back on it now only gives me 64pts of viral deflect.

This is a major bug! I can load up viral defense abilites active hyperdeflect and then compeltely change my loadout around and boost other stuff! Please fix this!

This is an issue the Devs will look in to it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
